Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA)

This is my mandatory stop while in Sydney. It's beautiful, it's always interesting, it's free and the roof top coffee shop has excellent food and amazing views

On a sunny day the view from the cafe is great. On a rainy day, not so much. There's free entry (unless you want to see their collection on the 3rd floor). Good to while away some time on a rainy day

It's freeeeee! Jenny watson's Exhibition is superb. Opens DAILY, yes, that means Monday ???? Wednesday closes late, 9 pm. The museum collection is great and has a rooftop

Not the strongest of contemporary arts museum but nonetheless it is worthwhile to take a look if you find yourself having some time in your hands in the rocks area. Free access.

While Chuck Close is a crowd pleaser, the MCA collection is also well positioned and certainly worth a visit any day!

The museum is free of entrance, so I'd recommend paying a visit. Don't forget to check the café out

You can get a great view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge from the fourth floor of the museum . Just go onto the cafe terrace (no purchase required!)

The building itself is the attraction really. Don't miss the rooftop with the view on the quay.

11am First Nations works free tour with Frances was wonderful. "I love contemporary art because the gloves are off." Fierce and super smart.

Rotating exhibitions and a permanent collection . Showcasing some of the best Australian and International contemporary art .

Make sure you visit all the floors of the Gallery and ask questions of the staff they're really quite approachable and knowledgable , you'll get a lot more out of the experience

Nice permanent exhibition , although I found it a bit too apologetix towards Australian history. Good temporary exhibitions , lots of activites available

Permanent collection is free and really good! Nice view of the bridge and Opera House from the cafe on level four.

Visiting shows are the draw, but the permanent collection is worthy of your time. Rebecca Baumann's automated colour field is really fun

Even if you don't like museums , bring enough time - usually there is something in the MCA that can draw your attention!

The 2nd floor host MCA's permanent collection and it's FREE to the public. Museum closes promptly at 5 PM. Also, FREE, fast Wi-Fi!!!

The Biennale is amazing, definitely must see it. All other exhibitions are great, too.

Free, inspiring, artsy obviously but not too full on on the contemporary side! Warmly recommended!

Ground floor and first floors have free galleries . You're not allowed to take water bottles inside so be aware!

As some parts of MCA are free of charge, it's a nice 'drop-in' whenever you are in the area
