What a gem of a zoo ! Granted, you won't see tons of animals but those you do are to be experienced in an amazing setting. The bamboo forrest is <3 Tip: Give the animals time, they WILL move :)
Of course I loved it! Who doesn't loves zoos ? The only complaint I had was that some of the exhibits could be larger. You won't get to see all the animals in there prime photogenic modes, so come back!
Nice walk. If it's cold don't expect to see birds or lemurs. But you get Half off a ticket. If you get there when it opens you beat all the families. Excited about the future kangaroo exhibit !
Truly a gem. One of the best zoo 's I have ever been to. the zoo is always improving itself and adding more interesting exhibits . One of Nashvilles best kept secrets. Plan to spend half a day.
Amazing place for a family day. Make sure you visit the flamingos!
Zoo is amazing, however Boo at the Zoo is not worth the $. We made several@trips thru the candy stations, and our Little’s left with less than 1/4 bag of candy . Barely covered the bottom of their bag.
The zoo has improved so much! I love all of the changes! Got to see them feed the elephants today!!! Sunset Safari is a great event to attend in the fall!
Did you know? The Zoo is involved with a program dedicated to saving the Clouded Leopard. The recent birth of 3 cubs introduced new genes into the American population for the first time in 20 years. Read more
A really great zoo for the price. Lots to see. You'll need a minimum of a half day to see everything.
The zoo is constantly growing and adding new features. The jungle gym is a must for the kids. Save your money on the train .

The lorikeets are awesome. Don't skip them and be sure to buy the little cup of nectar to feed them.
Pace yourself and have fun. Remember to drink water and give younger kids time to take a rest.
The amazing set up not a lot of animals but you really feel apart of the animals environment

Great zoo , and you acquire a little exercise too. Bonus! Decent assortment of animals. Relaxing.
Coming from 3-6 is great, less crowd & the animals are moving around more. Some stuff closes earlier though.
I loved everything (despite some construction ), but the bamboo forest area was most impressive.
Get to the Kangaroos right when the zoo opens to see them hop around and come up to you.
The Zoo opens at 9:00am on Sundays in the summer schedule. Beat the crowds and get there before the rush around noon. Especially nice if you're a member and you only want to stay a few hours.
From African Elephants to a 66,000 square-foot jungle gym , the Nashville Zoo will keep everyone entertained.
Go early morning or late afternoon. 4 pm is great because the animals are lively , knowing it is feeding time.
Outpost station is amazing! Don't leave your drink outside the croft house, it will get stolen.
Get a seasons pass. It will pay for itself in 2 visits. Skip the first few exhibits to avoid some congestion as everyone immediately stops.
Dino trek was awesome especially the spitting water one ...lol my daughter loved it
The jungle gym is nice. The zoo itself need more animals. There's plenty of land just not many animails
In October, the Zoo does Ghouls at Grassmere . Be sure to get dressed up and take your kids for trick-or-treat at the Zoo .
It's a pretty small zoo - but the ability to walk around with kangaroos is pretty cool.
The jungle gym is awesome. I loved it as a kid and I still do
If you are planning on coming twice in a year (or more), then get the membership. It is well worth iy!
Lots of walking but has a lot of shade and seating. Bring cash
Go first thing in the morning (it opens at 9), before it gets too hot and the crowds swarm in!
