The Coat of Arms incl England's 3 Gold Lions in the lower sinister quadrant, Portuguese Arms in the lower dexter, the old Spanish red/yellow quad opposite one w beer 's hops in it! Cleverly made-up! :)

Steve Bell

Nice old pub in the town centre with more seating out in the largely heated and covered beer garden . Known for real ale and sometimes run small festivals . Noticeably pricey though.

Carl Griffin

Traditional olde worlde pub . A peaceful place to spend a couple of hours in the town centre . Great real ale .

With 3 rotating taps, fantastic hidden beer garden , and a fantastic staff , this is what every pub should aspire to be! Certainly the best pub in Reading.

They talk about a secret beer garden . It is more like a Tardis. It goes on forever. Good selection of ales , beer and ciders .

Christine Rolls

House ales Fullers London pride , Loddon Hullabaloo and 3 ever changing guest ales .

Great pub , good atmosphere, large beer garden with heaters. Beat pub in central Reading.

Good atmosphere, nice selection of house and guest ales and a decently heated beer garden .

Henry Thompson

Decent beers which few other local pubs seem to manage and excellent that they don’t do food

Rich Black

The best beer , beer garden and staff in town . Second to none.

Jennifer Carter

Nice pub , good beer

Not impressed. Went there with my dog as I was expecting it to be dog friendly as it had always been before. The bar staff were not friendly and not accommodating to dogs.

Lauren Andrews

A great traditional pub , quite secluded even though it's right in the town centre !
