I'm not a fan of animals in cages, yet how Artis runs the place (minimum animals, large habitats) is great. Plus: they don't try to be an attraction park . And who doesn't love "Artis de Partis"!

If you forget the fact that animals are there captured and for your pleasure this place is great! Best zoos I've ever visited. Plenty to see from insects to elephants. The butterfly garden is a must.

Amazing concept of a zoo to see different animals living together in a semi open environment, you have the pleasure of watching animals plus you don’t get annoyed by seeing them in cages.

I love this zoo because it's very spacious for the captive animals and it's a great place to spend your morning when it's nice and sunny . Perfect for families and kids of course

Visit the recently renovated Apen- en Vogelhuis (Monkey & Bird House). Grab a card at the entrance to spot the free-ranging monkeys, birds, iguanas and other animals in a monumental building.

An absolute must see. The gorillas are fun, the giraffes amazing and the environment is so pleasant. Wear comfy shoes !

This is an amazing zoo with so many great animals. This is a really good zoo and plenty of things to see. Staff are friendly . Price is reasonable.

Amazing, saw wolf with beautiful white color and saw their doing howling, all animals have various but saw cute monkey baby!!

Really nice place. Online tickets are a bit cheaper and you don't need to stay in line . You can buy a map in the gift shop right at the entrance.

Big, clean and nice zoo . If you have a couple of free hours - necessarily visit it!

We enjoyed ourselves on the last day here. It’s small enough to enjoy in half afternoon. The kids park is super cool too!

This is The Artis Zoo . Who needs a tip about this place. The best, most beautiful zoo in the World. Tip: go there on a Sunday morning be at the gate at 09:00. Be the first. And enjoy.

Having said so, I must admit that the attendant of the penguins in Artis demonstrates great dedication, knowledge and love for his animals. Much appreciated and recognized!

There is no obvious route around, so it can be hard not to miss something, get the map when buying your ticket.

It's a beautiful city zoo (oldest on Europe's mainland) but the shelters are too small for some animals.

This one is a must visit. Spent a whole day here but missed some corners

Zoos are a bit sad places but this one offers unique surprises, like walking in the middle of monkeys and exotic birds

Must see - aquariums !!!!! Gorillas look desperate tho. And the baby elephant died. :( During winter season it's quite boring tho.

A very free atmosphere - give a high-five to a monkey or let a beautiful butterfly land on your hand!

If you live in or near Amsterdam, get a membership! After three visits you already got your money's worth.

When I was a kid, this was my go-to place. Still a great zoo .

The zoo is tiny but you'll have to shell out 24 bucks to get in regardless
