Worth the wait to walk through and see how George Washington lived. Lots of interesting things to see including his entertainment room and bedroom where he died. Talk to the guides for helpful info.
The mansion itself is great to walk through. You will see how Washington was so precise about the decoration and the architecture . The land is very big you need time to go and see every spot.
A lot depends on which tour guide you get. Incredible home - massive on the outside, compact on the inside. Able to go in but was under renovation when we visited in late January 2019.
The specialty tour is well worth the additional money. Having a guide dedicated to your group and being able to see additional sections of the home was great.
Beautiful location, but they seem uncomfortable on the topic of slavery. Better to fully represent the actual history of this country rather then the glorified fairytale you’ll get here.
Spirit cruises brought us frm DC to the estate and back. Large, comfortable boat with a decent recorded tour of riverfront sites en route. A very pleasant way to go!
Queues are too long to get in. The docents are generally good, but some need to think about their presentation skills, as the started before groups fully arrived or were unintelligible.
It can take you all day to see everything! Great for the entire family!
Ben Gates and his team manipulate events to ensure the President 's birthday celebrations are held at Mount Vernon so they can talk to him alone in National Treasure : Book of Secrets (2007).
My favorite place to visit. Beautiful mansion, rich in history, great tours , gorgeous views
Pay the extra fee for the National Treasure tour , you get to see the basement of the house plus other cool areas and views .
If you plan to walk the grounds have on good walking shoes or sneakers . There are steep inclines down to the wharf that are worth experiencing.
Great place to spend the day with family learning about the general and our President George Washington .
Food court prices and admission are pure extortion! Admission and lunch cost my family of four $100
Amazing bit of history. Take the distillery tour if you have time. It's a few minutes down the road , but worth the trip!
the 4D movie and the gardens
Bring sunscreen and your lunch . Our lunch of sandwiches for 2 adults and 2 young kids was $40.
Cool step back in time!!!
The view is unparalleled
tour is kinda boring the guides could be replaced by a looped recording
Take your bike on the trail along the Potomac. Check out George Washington 's wooden teeth. Grab a refreshing drink at the pub when you're done.
Great views here! Sit out in the lawn!
Took the national treasures tour a lot of fun! Recommended
Take the River boat ride and watch them spin linen...fascinating!
George Washington himself
Areas of this site was restored by the Garden Club of Virginia. Read more
I thought the tour guides were actually rude and quite haughty acting. Was NOT a pleasurable experience. Sorry I wasted my morning doing this tour .
No photography allowed inside the mansion!
First visit to Mt. VERNON.
O tour pela casa conta um pouco da história e é bem interessante! Vale a pena pra conhecer a rotina da familia ma época.
