An awesome example of old Shanghai’s architecture , unfortunately not much of the original complex survived the construction of the mall . What’s left is still awesome though.
聖瑪利亞女中是美國聖公會在滬創辦的一所著名教會女子中學。於1851年創辦於虹口文監師路和百老匯路口聖公會救主堂後的文紀女塾。 1923年，女校遷入白利南路(今址)新校舍，並改名聖瑪利亞女子中學。校園長期較完整地保留了昔日的風格，被列為上海市第四批優秀歷史建築。 05-06年，1號教學樓和一幢宿舍樓乃至迴廊均被開發商拆除，另外四幢保留建築的屋頂亦被拆除，僅鐘樓倖存。 09年經媒體曝光後引發社會關注。
