This is a surreal experience. It's a must see while on the Big Island . You might even see a giant sea turtle . Best beach ever.
Sea turtles come up onto the sand here, but even if you don’t see one on shore, climb on the rocks nearby and look for them swimming in the water just off shore!
Green sea turtles rest and nest at this famous beach on the southeast side of the island . Run your fingers through the black grains of sand formed by lava. Strong currents can make swimming difficult.
Please make sure you give the turtles space, don't crowd them. This is a beautiful black sand beach , the black sand really sparkles, the turtles love sun bathing on the shore.
This may not be the best beach for swimming , but it's incredible to see an all-black sand beach ! Make sure you scoop some up and play with it; your hands stay clean ! I kept expecting dirty hands.
Beautiful black sand beach but surf can be rough and the tourist even rougher. So many turtles , look for their butts in the waves and their faces beneath the surface.
Soo pretty! Bring water shoes , because the sand is pretty coarse. There are lots of volcanic rocks to hike around on which is really fun!
A must stop! There always seem to be green sea turtles at this beach too. During low tide they can be found resting on the sand.
Incredible black sand beach formed by volcano , and very frequent visits from groups of Hawaiian sea turtles
The beach looks like a tropical paradise and have a small lily pond behind it. Watch out for sharp rocks in the water though
Go meet the turtles ! But don't be a stupid tourist . Keep your distance and let them live and swim in peace !
Great place to see sea turtles . Also have a lovely pond on the other side of the beach .
Beautiful. A little gritty/pebbly for a swim spot though.
Really black sand indeed and the sea turtles are also black!
Give the sea turtles their space, don't steal the sand, and take plenty of photos. Those are the rules. Learn 'em, know 'em, live 'em...
Definitely cool to see the black sandy beach and a must see stop if you are going to the volcano
Just saw sea turtles 🐢 resting on the beautiful black sand beach !
Go at sunset !! You might get to see sea turtles but please don't disturb them!
Sand is really black. If you are lucky you can see a huge turtle
Beautiful black sands and there's a lily pond as well !
Beautiful beach . What a good place to spend a lazy afternoon.
A must see in Kona. There is a secret turtle spot. Find them and win cool photos ;-)
Great place to observe turtles . The water's tad chilly to swim and there're ants so keep an eye on your food.
Beautiful beach with ample parking if you use the address on google maps
Best black sand beach ever and love seeing turtles

Keep your eyes peeled for the turtles that frequent the beach but keep your distance .
