Few tips: Put a ton of hair conditioner! Ease your way out from the inside pool and get comfy in the cave before you step out. Follow the trail on the left of the entrance for a great photo opp.
Cross this place from your bucket list, the Blue Lagoon is totally awesome. But remember to bring some flip flops if you don't want your feet to burn on the very cold floors outside during winter.
Amazing place and experience. Book Lava Restaurant and It is good to bring a water prof case for your phone to take pictures but if you don't they sell it on the bar
In water massage appointments can book up quickly, so sign up online or early morning. Then do a mini hike around the facility after you're sufficiently waterlogged.
Pricey but a really nice experience. Renting a bathrobe and slippers costs ISK 3050 (about $24 or €19). Compare to €30 extra for the same in premium package but that includes a drink & toiletries.
Absolutely beautiful and relaxing! If you have a little extra cash to spare do the premium package. Loved the silica mask. Relaxation area with chairs was awesome after with a cozy bathrobe.
Amazing warm pool to relax and enjoy the natural water. Basic ticket is enough to swim & enjoy the pool & it include 1 free drink. Bring your slipper. The only drawback is the size of changing room.
Be sure to book in advance!! Considering how long the queue was, the pool is surprisingly not that cramped. It's beautiful, but quite manmade. Lava restaurant offers delicious dinner too!
Many say it’s a tourist trap but we loved it here, especially after a long red eye flight. Bob around in opaque geothermal water while drinking a complimentary drink wearing a silica mask. Heavenly.
Geothermal spa like no other. The calm blue waters among the scenic mountainous landscape is unbeatable! bathrooms are clean and well equipped with soap, conditioners, hair dryers and cotton buds
Go early! 8am when it opens is the best, watch the sun rise, or in our case, watch the sky get lighter. Afternoon is too crowded . Get the masks, drinks, massages , check out the steam rooms .
Incredibly relaxing. Must visit. Need to book at least a week in advance. 70€ entrance. Towel , shampoo, shower gel , body cream, silica mask and welcome drink included. Bring flip-flops.
Loved the face masks and felt very relaxed after a couple of hours in here. Smoothies are lovely and lots of drinking water fountains available ????????
The lagoon itself is obviously impressive, but make sure to take a walk outside to the right of the front entrance, the views are gorgeous
Fantastic scenery and water. Don't except the usual quiet and chilled spa atmosphere, this highly frequented sight sees many thousand visitors per day. The relaxation area inside is laughably small.
Most popular tourist destination in Iceland . This place is bougie, clean facilities , free amenities including shampoo, conditioner, qtips, cotton balls and bags to put your wet suit in.
AMAZING! arrive at 8am in winter for stunning experience watching the sun rise over the lagoon. Also way less crowded .
Recommend to go there after 15 so you enjoy the bath with less people and if you are lucky you may get to see the beautiful sunset from the bath. We had so much joy!
It’s a paradise! Crew is extremely friendly and if you come at nights (less people around) in winter you might have the chance to spot the famous Northern Lights right from the lagoon. Amazing.
We went directly after landing at KEF. Super easy to transport us and our luggage from KEF, to the Lagoon, and then on to the city . Perfect recipe for relaxation.
Just sublime. Out of this world. And unique. Blissful bucket list stuff. Changing rooms are a bit too small.
Totally a tourist place. If you don't want to enter the swimming area you can still walk around on the outside to see the blue lakes and their nice contrast to the black lava rocks.
Those with long hair - use lots of conditioner BEFORE entering the lagoon. The water will dry your hair out. Check out the quiet area if you want to relax away from the mobs of tourists .
The view , atmosphere and experience is surreal. The massages are definitely worth every penny. No where else can you get a water massage while floating in hot springs and staring at the sky.
Such a good way to start or end a trip! Great service extremely friendly and helpful. Bar in the lagoon what else could you need?
Amazing setting, nice hot water is very relaxing, super high quality food in the lava restaurant . Fun silica mud masks to make your skin feel tight and soft.
It's worth it to upgrade to "comfort" - between the algae mask, the free drink, and the towel , you can easily get your money's worth. Don't spring for premium though - seemed like a ripoff!
Don’t forget to leave conditioner in before you get in the water. Also, if you go to the ($$$) restaurant , upstairs where the bathrooms are you can find a balcony with a great view !
Really touristy but worth the stop. We took the fly bus from the airport here. Get the middle package, it includes one drink and a mud mask . The strawberry smoothie is really good!
Make sure you cover your hair with a lot of conditioner (located in their shower ) before going into the water. I'd tie your hair up as well . The waters very bad for your hair.
Worth the trek (it's 45 mins from Reykjavik). Go for a spot first thing in the morning and arrive in darkness for the proper atmospheric entrance.
A must when visiting Iceland . Relaxing in hot water doesn't get old. Book before your visit to be sure to get in.
Greatest experience of all. 3 hours passed and still thought I was in the water for 10 minutes. They offer many services in general. I took the comfort option with the free 1st drink and algae mask.
Pretty hot spring ! The water is very warm and relaxing. The woman's changing / shower area is big. Lots of lockers. Several vanity areas with nice lighted mirrors and hair dryers.
Yes, it is crowded . Yes, it is expensive . Yes, it is worth it. Book advance tickets and look forward to soaking off your jet lag!
book in advance, tickets sell out days in advance! definitely overpriced for what it is, but it's definitely a must when in Iceland
It is a great experience and I recommend you do it At least once. The Myvatn Nature Baths in the north are a little better and less chaotic
Many ppl bring hotel towels which all look the same and get mixed up and nicked. You don't need to bring it out to the Lagoon, but if you do, hang it in the Blue Café . Oh, and sunglasses are a must.
Such an incredible experience walking through that blue water. Perfect temperature and we grabbed a beer to relax even more so.
It's huge and seems to be solely made for tourists . Have not met one Icelander . It's busy but with the mist it feels like you are the only people. You don't smell the sulfur either!
Rent/bring a robe if you're visiting in the winter. You'll thank me. Take photos of the lagoon with your jacket on. Go to the back left side for the hottest water. Inside the "cave " there is a guide
TREAT YOSELF. One of the 25 wonders of the world, this geothermal hot spring lagoon would make Tom and Donna proud. Just don't lose your wristband.
Absolutely amazing, highly recommend a stop here on any trip to Iceland . Go for the package that includes the towel and robe to make the dash to the lagoon slightly more bearable.
Well organized , highly structured set up. It is a must to see, visit, and get into lagoon (even in winter). Take "Premium" fee for entrance.
A must do. Highlight of my trip. Enjoyed time in the exclusive lounge and lunch at the Lava restaurant
If you find a 50€ entrance fee slightly too expensive and are looking for a "real" Icelandic bathing experience consider the many public swimming pools . Especially Nautholsvik is a great experience!
Amazing spa . Book in advance, explore all the corners inside the lagoon and don't forget to try the masks.
When it was super cold (0*C) and the wind was whipping around, the waterfall and cave outside of the building were the warmest spots. Steam room was incredible.
Truly a once-in-a-lifetime exp: hot spring at 0° with icy silicon mud to sooth and refresh your body and soul. Try it both the day with the blue; and the night with the sky of stars.
Get the package deal before online to beat the tourist groups crowding at 10am. Unique & totally worth the money. May wreck hair. Bald guys like did not have a problem. Come right after landing here
