SUPER informative. The perfect size for a museum . You can spend an hour reading the exhibits and get an amazing sense for Iceland's history
The place to come for Icelandic History 101. I recommend coming here, then walking 10ish minutes to the settlement exhibition , where you'll see an excavated Icelandic farm house.
One of the best museums ever visited. Great displays, overwhelmingly informative, NOT boring in the slighest. Check out the hands-on rooms on the second floor where you can try the ring armour on!
I liked the audio stations best. The whole museum gives you a good feeling of how Iceland came to be. And everything is also in English.
An excellent museum worth the visit. Full of informational displays and well organized so you can skip around what you don’t find interesting. Check bags downstairs for free. Coffee shop is nice.
Really nice museum with a lot to see. They even have free lockers to hold your stuff during your visit. Definitely worth it, especially if you have a the Reykjavík city card.
Really nice exhibition about Islandic culture and history since the settlement !! Very interesting things to see ... Worth a visit
I love the cafe at this place but if you are a traveller you must look at the museum to get familiar with our weird Icelandic culture .
Good exhibition , really well explained! Also the gift shop is pretty nice and there is a cozy cafe
Fascinating museum ! Really worth visiting if you’re visiting Reykjavik.
Wonderful place to learn about the history & culture of Iceland.
Very interesting exhibits that provide a good introduction to the history of Iceland.
Must visit when in Reykjavík! Learn about how it all started in Iceland! Very interesting!
A really captivating museum for having a glimpse into Icelandic history. 👏
Give yourself at least two hours to explore and learn about Iceland's history.
Lovely exhibitions , nice coffee shop . Certainly worth your time.
Fabulous museum , great coffee and the best carrot cake in Reykjavik!
Great info graphics, interesting and well written description of exposition
Culture , cafe ! Wonderful museum !!
Very nicely organized museum ! One of the best I have visited...
Second floor older history was more interesting that the third floor recent history.
Be warned, the 11AM English guided tour is only operated in the summer months .
Def worth seeing to know the history of Iceland and know where the Icelandic people came from.
Visit here to have an overview of Iceland's history.

Free wifi in coffeeshop, wich sells excellent coffee
Nice museum !
Very expensive for a museum . €16 per person is not worth it
Экспозиции небольшие, но ёмкие и интересные, куча интерактивных досок и гидов, очень тихо
Virkilega fræðandi og uppbyggjandi.
You can go get the wifi password at the same spot where you pick up your coffee - Snorri Másson
So this was an interesting place, and I leaned a lot about the settlement of the island and city, it's history in shipping and fishing. But I thought it was a museum about Vikings.... It's not. - Michael Laine
You can literally feel the great Icelandic history here! Worth to see it. It's perfectly produced. - Fukejř🧗 Mooza🏊
The most realistic models in a museum. A must-see when in Reykjavik - Shmulik
The architecture is one of a kind and you can go to the top for about 8 USD. - Eric Tsai
Café called Tjörnin on Tjörnin. Nice cosy inexpensive café with good service, but lacks variety due to its size. - Viktor Mar Bonilla
Presented without cynicism or camp, this place is actually an amazing and interesting museum. Very fun. While small, it's well worth it. - Matthew Riley MacPherson
