Super tiny and cosy pub right next to the Thames. Lovely little deck out the back which has great views of the river and city skyline. It gets busy so arrive early if you want a seat.
Don't forget to take a look at the balcony - the in-out of the tide is quite spectacular. It comes right up against the buildings, you could almost be on a boat! The pub food is also excellent.
This place is a living piece of history and well worth a visit just to feel like a Victorian merchant while you quaff your ale . Make it out onto the decking area for an amazing vista to drink to.
Cosy friendly small pub , been here since 1584! Great ales with guest ales . Great bar food - the pie of the day was fab and with huge chips , for around £8.50.
Check our Gandalf's staff behind the bar and go outside for a great view of the Thames.
Lovely outside deck in summer with views of the Thames. Gandalf's staff is behind the bar !
The veranda is definitely worth a visit if you can get out there. Wonderful views across the Thames; decent beer too.
Often not much room to sit, always very busy Monday night (quiz night), the food is great, makes things difficult to eat. Beer is fine. Is not kid friendly , local bi-laws means strictly no under 18s.
Pub quiz with Ian ????
Sir Ian's Shepard's Pie is delicious. Gandalf approved.
Authentic and laid back pub , great Sunday roast and Fish and chips .
Wonderful old school pub . Beautifully kept bitters , great service, wonderful balcony overlooking the river . An absolute delight. Food (upstairs) is also good.
Seriously good fish , chips and mashed peas . In fact, anything with their chips is delicious
Every time I've has the pork Sunday lunch it has been spot on. Served quickly and tastes fantastic.
Great traditional pub , ideal spot for summer. Really good Sunday roast .
The Sunday roast (of any persuasion) is great, but get here early as it fills up fast!
This pub was built in 1720 on the site of an older tavern. As a boy Charles Dickens , who used to visit his godfather who lived nearby, was made to stand on a table and sing to the patrons.
Great characterful pub which is dog friendly . Try the Doom Bar ale
Lovely pub . My little dog was very welcome and the food was great.
Very authentic pub with an amazing view of the river
Great little pub , right on the river . Well-kept ales and excellent food. Highly recommended! http://www.thegrapes.co.uk
Quaint little pub - Charles Dickens used to frequent. Great roasts at Sunday lunchtime. On other nights, a cracking seafood restaurant
Cozy pub . Good food. Fun pub quiz on Mondays.
Very cosy, old English pub . Oozing with character and history. They don't come better than this.
A pint of whitebait is no mean feat, but by heck it's tasty.
Lovely little pub with an outdoor area
It's amazing that Simon Rowland can check in to the pub when it's closed! Well done fella...
Amazing fish and chips . But don't tell anyone... Let's keep this place our little secret...
Best fish&chips I ever had!
Hidden gem , nice traditional pub .
Get here early seating is at a premium.
Popular quiz on a Monday night. Arrive early!
Delicious sunday roast that is served up faster than you can say "sunday roast "
Service is great since the change of ownership and the Sunday roast is great!
I ordered a coffee (don't hate me) which was my first mistake. It was very weak. I politely asked at the bar to have it done again, feeling super-awkward, and the barmaid was incredibly rude.
Great Fish & chips and Beer !
The fish and chips is twice as good as at The Narrow an half the price
