I've had pretty fast service and abysmally slow service -- nearly 30 mins for 2 toasted bagels -- but it's always DELICIOUS. Yummy melting cream cheese on incredible bagels , unf. Also CRAGELS !! Do it.
Besides having a delightfully homey mural gracing the front of their Geary Boulevard deli where one can find a host of NY-style classics, they also supply doughy goodness in bulk to stores across town Read more
After all these years, a new computer system, staff and management changes and they still cannot execute your order correctly. Check before you leave!!
While the bagels are the best SF has to offer, it's the whitefish salad and chopped liver that leave a smile on my face. Seriously good. Seriously.
The food is great! The problem is with the service. Every time you order food you wonder how close they'll get to actually making your order correctly.
Thirty years after my first visit, the bagels are the same - flavourful with crunch. Good poppy hamantaschen. Jalapeno bagel is a winner.
The New Yorker lox + cream cheese style satisfies that deli style craving. Super friendly too.
They can O.D. on the cream cheese at times (so order "light") but it's a great place for a fresh bagel (though definitely falls short of its NY cousin).
Ok midrange quality bagels ; way too sugary IMO. Their “cragels ” weren’t anything unique, a novelty item. Marla’s on Balboa makes a far better bagel but at 3x the cost. Beauty’ in Oakland are the best
After enjoying one of their toasted bagels , I couldn't stop daydreaming about the next one... Best bagels in the city !
Lox bagel is the way to go! They give you a healthy portion of lox .
The lox bagel ! So good!
Cragels : much, much better than I had thought it could be. Dense and chewy like a bagel , but buttery and layered like a croissant !
They are a kosher business, so they don't have ham . Get your ham , egg , and cheese bagel at the location in San Carlos.
I agree the whitefish was very good.. They were out of tuna which is my usual thing but no complaints about the service
Not comparable to a bagel on the east coast, but definitely the best you'll find in the west!
Toasted rye bagel with lox-spread is the way to go
The best place for NY style bagels with cream cheese & a black and white cookie
New management has really improved the service in this place. Great job!
The food here is quite good, but if there are more than a few customers in the shop, it won't be fast. Plan accordingly.
Egg Bagel with American, Cheddar and Jack Cheese is so delicious
bagel : b+, cragel : c, onion flat: d+, don't be fooled, SF has better than this
Go early, they can sell out even as early as 8:30am for more popular bagel types.
Use your FiveStars card and get 1 dozen bagels for free. Ask for a card if you don't have one already
Lox and salted bagel was tasty.
I pretty much like plain bagels with plain cream cheese . I have to say that even their plain bagels with plain cream cheese taste great!
Maybe the only place in SFO one can get a "real" bagel .
One of the better places to get a bagel in SF . The bagel and lox called The New Yorker was tasty and scratched that itch, though the cream cheese was pretty runny. Read more on WinstonWanders below! Read more
Breakfast bagel with eggs cheese and pastrami ! Yum!
Nutella cragel - (croissant/bagel) - pretty good but a little dry. Expensive at $4
Didn't live up to the hype. Bagels are fine, but not great. Bagel Bakery in SOMA is still the best in the area.
Decent NY-style bagels and extremely slow service.
Cragels are delicious!
owners took the tip option off of the credit card slips, so be sure to bring a couple bucks in cash
As a New Yorker , I have to say our bagels are better. However, this place is still worth a visit. It's pretty good
Try their rueben
Best bagel in town
They double charged me and then told me "that's what I was going to be charged today". Don't come here. These people will scam you.
Good bagels , slow service -- old guy in line (before storming out): "I was a young man when I came in!" (Made me feel like I was back in NYC.)
These are the best bagels in SF . Made authentically and their service is great. You will also be impressed by their pastries and sandwiches . Worth the long bus ride to the Richmond!
CRAGELS !!!
Jalapeño bagel + lox and green onion cream cheese = heaven!
Fantastic LOX .
Great bagels , terrible service
Their lox cream cheese !
Grab a dozen day old bagels for 5.25.
It’s ok? There’s not much option out here. That’s about it.
Though not a bad place, it's really not made of bagels . AT ALL. It's just normal drywall and such.
The Brothers Reuben is totally delicious!
Schmendricks blows this place in the dust.
Home of the jalapeño-cheese bagel, created at this very location. Their eggwiches with avocado are excellent, with a generous portion of egg. - Casey Bowman
Huge beautiful park, great for biking, jogging, walking, picnics. - Bogdan Dobre
