Potsdamer Stadtschloss
Das Potsdamer Stadtschloss, ein Barockschloss, erstreckte sich zwischen dem Alten Markt und dem heutigen Hotel Mercure am Lustgarten. 1945 ausgebrannt, wurde es 1959/60 gesprengt & abgetragen. Ein Neubau für den Brandenburger Landtag mit historisierender Fassade wurde am 22.1.2014 eingeweiht.

The original was felled by bombing April 1945. The current building is a modern day replica, completed in 2013 and it hosts Brandenburg's parliament.
One of the newest historic castles in Germany.

You get a sense of history here, in the Kaiser's preferred residence. Exterior needs good cleanup but still must see when in Berlin. Closed Tuesdays in winter. Short walk through park from Sans Souci. - Guido Gybels
