Great beer at a great price in one of the loveliest pubs in London. If you poke your head in and it looks busy in the front it's still worth checking the back rooms and upstairs.

Al Stewart

Great pub with stacks of character. Don't be fooled by the small front section, there are snugs/alcoves either side of the bar and a big lounge section behind with a good selection of Sam Adams beers .

Slynky Cat

Innocuous from the outside, pop in & experience this Victorian pub with lots of character. Sam Smith brewhouse. Recommend the Organic Chocolate Stout as something different.

Yiota Pap

beautiful pub with lots of small sections to keep your privacy. they also have working fireplaces which are perfect for cold winter days. take some time to enjoy the decorations around the pub

Siobhán Rogers

Wicked layout! Impossible to find anyone. They do a wonderful DIY bloody Mary and the beer is really really good. Wheat organic beer and the cider taste like apples like real cider should taste!

Mona

A lovely Samuel Smiths pub in Holborn. Nice organic lager . Plenty of room upstairs. Nice booths downstairs :)

Jo Halstead

Victorian pub with sectioned wooden walls dividing it up around the bar , almost makes you feel as though you've stepped into a Dickens novel . Not too busy, and cheap drinks as it's a Samuel Smith pub .

Michael Holdsworth

Beautiful pub , cheap and good beer . The architecture is amazing, well worth a nosey.

Simon Saint

Amazing pub , one of the original gin palaces with glass screens. Worth a visit to the men's to see some amazing original urinals!

Andrew Rogoff

A very classic Victorian boozer with beautiful partitioned bits - presumably to divide workmen in the saloon from ladies and gents elsewhere. Who knows, I'm making this stuff up.

Pete Marcus

Huge and beautiful old gin palace . Lots of cubby holes to explore and a whole upstairs too!

Michaela Jausen

Super great location, kind of time traveling with yummi beer and single malt scotch whisky ... sooo nice!

Serkan Görür

The best pub ever! Insane layout, incredible organic beer and cider and reasonable prices. Stout was my fav.

Cate T

Awesome interior - one of the closest things London has to an authentic gin palace . Well worth a visit

Karl Wilson

Great Sam Smith's pub with traditional feel. Lovely surroundings to relax in.

Richard Carter

Great pub with Victorian interior still in tact: near Holborn underground. Good beer , too: nice pint of Sam Smith's Old Brewery at a very reasonable £2.90

Katerina Kerr

Beautiful old pub that has been fully restored. It's a Sam smiths so lovely beers and no music license makes sure the prices stay low

Billy Sayers

Nice traditional ales and fruit beers in Victorian pub surroundings.

Andrew Marks

One of the prettiest pubs in London. Search around the ground floor for a table or cubicle. Very friendly staff .

Jon Ball

They do food - lunch Mon-Sat & eve also Mon-Thu but this is hidden upstairs with no indication d/stairs that I spotted! Lager drinkers note they sell no brands - their Pure Brewed Lager is good though

Matthias Bauw

Very authentic pub with extensive selection of beers . Quite cheap , only thing that bothered me is that there are no prices advertised

Sam M

Wonderfully epic Victorian Sam Smiths pub ; lots of booths , wood and etched glass.

Emily Daggett

My FAVORITE London Pub ! Really charming with divided compartments downstairs. Go early and try to get your own booth with friends.

Tom Foreman

Great Original Decor, you can appreciate the history of how public houses used to be many years ago.

Scott Mongeau

Classic historical Samuel Smith’s pub with amazing Victorian interior!

Londonist

Absolutely gorgeous; interior design (note booths and etched glass dividers ) mean this is a stunning place to be - and cheap Sam Smiths beer !

Roomsurfer Berlin

Nice, old fashioned and popular pub close to Covent Garden - recommended by Dave of andBerlin blog as 'cheap by London standards'!

Alexey Kokin

Great place, cheap enough even when 1 pound equals 110 rub.

Andrew White

Fantastic cozy boozer with lots of snugs. Great value too :)

Mike Brosche

Very good Samuel Smith bottle varieties, great snugs and friendly staff

Jeremy Knight

Great old pub with little semi private nooks. Get a pint of bitter and a packet of crisps

Ierax Holargeus

Nice Victorian pub . Love its booths and the privacy you can enjoy.

Brilliant desing and cheap Sam Smiths beer . It's a win-win. The extra stout is great.

Gorgeous, kick ass interiors and some tasty Samuel Smith beer . Feels like a Dickens novel inside but upstairs smells... strange. Let's say strange.

Lovely sitting room upstairs. Cuddle up with a date on a couch in this gorgeous old pub .
