Great cozy vibe, hidden from the massed hordes but only just behind Holborn Station . Great food, gin and restaurant upstairs. Conveniently close to a great vodka bar , but that’s another story
Cozy and romantic also to have lunch or dinner upstairs! But you should reserve a table! I love the Sunday roast ! So tasty and pretty good presentation!
Cuisine quite similar to the Holborn DR at our hotel next door. But more traditional, and it's a nice break after having meals for several consecutive days at the Holborn DR & the Mirror Room.
Just brought my friends for traditional fish and chips , meat pies and sausages & mashes . Up to standard and in large portion ! We couldn't even finish them all.
Well hidden gem . If you find it, you will love it. Classic bar downstairs, classy restaurant upstairs. Great food and service.
Don’t let the location discourage you from visiting. This is an excellent tavern. Great time-travelling interior decoration. Try the lamb chops and fish & chips . Good burger too.
Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant area, so nice that we spent 4 hours without even noticing how time flies. Delicious Sunday roast and friendly staff
Hidden little pub just behind Holborn station . Great food (you probably need to book in advance) and very interesting Gin collection!
Nice decor! Good beers and pub food . Try their pies . Their restaurant is upstairs so their food is quite good
A very comfy and relaxing atmosphere . We had sausages with mash and gravy and they were very good. We will probably come back here
Excellent sourdough pizza . Good selection of both ales and gin . A proper pub atmosphere - will definitely return
The chicken was tasteful. We had a good meal and we had an excellent service by Luan. If you’re bored of the fried and oily food and want a good dinner . We recommend this restaurant .
Mammoth-sized fish and chips or sticky ribs are well worth a try. Get a pint of 1549 to go with them - its a very tasty house brew .
Excellent in every way ; service, food, drinks, atmosphere.
Hidden gem just of Kingsway/Holborn. Changing local beer taps and a charming old history. Drink up...
Good pub fare . Large portions . Nice decor, especially upstairs if grabbing dinner . Friendly and attentive staff .
The Sunday roast was fantastic. Well done, would highly recommend
Food was good, but definitely a bit pricey if you’re just going for a quick lunch . The garlic mushroom on ciabatta starter was tasty, but a bit heavy on the cream.
Delicious slow roast beef !! Staff were very nice, but food delivery took an hour, so a bit slow for a normal business lunch . So, great if you got time ????
Delish british food and tradional british pub . Cozy interior
Delish british food and tradional british pub . Cozy interior
Great little pub . Seats full up quickly but one of the best kept beers I've drunk in London!
Great food and excellent service. I recommend the sausages with smashed potatoes .????✌
Cracking pub that you could easily miss. Great real ale selection and delicious pork pies !
Authentic traditional pub with great selection of gins and lovely restaurant area upstairs.
Accommodating service and a great pint of Old Peculiar in the midst of Monday.
Lovely pub tucked away from the main drag. Sell good cask ales .
Give the Beef Wellington a try...Looks like a turtle !
There was a very rude lady at the bar : no smile, rude answers, couldn’t advise us on anything from the menu; we had to leave :/ It’s good for the locals, but stuff don’t give a damn about tourists :/
Nice little tavern downstairs great food upstairs. Hidden away bit worth finding!
The Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection.
Great little pub tucked away in a small corner, friendly bartenders .
Great atmosphere! Good music . Gooooood books . What's not to love.
Great boozer loads of space, although get a table early!
A lively spot to get a pint. The food served upstairs is decent if not particularly noteworthy.
A Must beer !
Great pub from 1549 on a little narrow alley.
Great Beef Wellington !
Cornish Tribute Ale is always available and fresh. Cheers
Gins , locals since 1549. Must see!
You cannot leave this place without trying the Ship Tavern House Ale
Great gin cabinet
Sausage rolls are top notch
Try the pork pie with onion relish . Nom nom :-P
Shepherds Pie was top notch.
Culture, beer , everything!
Cosy boozer . Gets busy so bag a table early evening and hold on!
Great jazz music
The "seven deadly gins " challenge is definitely one to try. Only one person has tried it apparently.
