Seven Stars

Any pub that has a cat is worth a visit. Also, it's off the beaten path so great for a quiet daytime pint on a quiet street among beautiful architecture you might not otherwise have seen.

Not sure if they have a cat or just a picture of a cat which is sadly an ex-cat... Next time I'll ask. Wonderful building and atmosphere, food looks nice and reasonably priced too.

Great range of cask ale , good food, and good atmosphere. And, yes -- I met a cat in here in April 2015.

17 February: Notable for being one of only a few buildings in the area which date from before the Great Fire of 1666. Today it is run by chef Roxy Beaujolais with the help of her cat Thomas Paine.

Traditional pub , cozy interior and nice street for drinking on in the summer. Not much restaurant space but the food looked good.

Went to check out Seven Stars for the cat. Sadly, Tom passed away in 2012. There is however still beer .

Nice snug little pub tucked away from the main drag.

Ask for peanuts : you get a mahoosive wooden bowl all to yourself. Or a 'generous' cheese platter .

Strong case for being the oldest pub in London - may well be predominantly the original building dating back to 1602.

The guy who said this place is nothing special is wrong. This place is homely and a delight.

Be careful heading back from the toilets , uber steep stairs!
