The National Monument commemorates the fallen soldiers during WWII and the Malayan Emergency. The best time to visit is at dawn, where a soldier raises the national flag and lowers it again at dusk.
A nicely done memorial to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for Malaysia. Reminded us of the Iwo Jima memorial in Washington DC. It's free and there's a small food stand on entry.
Such beautiful place to visit but sadly the Jalur Gemilang held by our beloved Tugu Negara was old, and torn due to the weather. Hopefully the caretaker would replace the flag as soon as possible!
Many years on and still very well preserved. One of must visit places to learn about the country 's war histories.
