The Abbey Road zebra crossing in north London - made famous after appearing on a Beatles album cover - has been given Grade II listed status. The Beatles were photographed on Abbey Road in Ian Macmillan's iconic cover shot for the 1969 album Abbey Road.
Abbey Rd (Garden Rd) London Greater London NW8 United Kingdom
Amazing how something so common can be turned into an iconic landmark . But walking across this zebra crossing does leave you with a sense of awe. If only I were around when the album photo was taken!
It's worth paying the freelance photographer 5-pounds to get the perfect pic. Just make sure you respect the queue so everyone gets the chance to have their photo op free of accidental photo bombers!
It is iconic and etc, but you can't take the dam photo because the street is extremely crowded with cars (i went there in a monday). But still is a nice place
Start with the most obvious - the scene of one of the most iconic album covers of all time and the title of the 11th Studio album from British pop icons, The Beatles .
You can see where big bands like the Beatles recorded their albums and cross the famous street appeared on the Abbey Road cover album
Take a bit more time to get the perfect timing to have better background instead of full of cars or full of people and beware of the car and honk :)
Try to be here very early of late afternoon. There's a shop. After this go to Camden Art Center.
Amazing experience I have here. Staying in the middle of the road while taking pics? And walking on the line even there are cars coming? And people staring and laughing? All fun!
The place where my dreams came true ❣ However,it is quite difficult to take a pic when you try to walk because of the cars
Walk this iconic street and crosswalk where the Beatles posed for their famous Abbey Road album cover . A must even if you’re not a Beatles fan!
People will get hit by a car, be careful when taking photos... is dangerous!
REALLY busy road . Instead of taking the picture, you can pop a beer , sit on a wall and an take yor time laughing at angry drivers mad at tourists
It's a busy road these days! Hard to get a picture exactly like the cover, and please keep an eye open not to get run over by a car... But totally worth it!!!
Try to remember that this is still an actual road and don't hold up traffic when taking photos.
The easiest way to get to Abbey Road is by taking a Jubilee Line train to St John's Wood Station on the London Underground system.
The famous beetles crossing. Its busy with traffic so have someone take a picture of you quickly.
The cars and lots of tourists are a bummer but it is still worth for getting your picture. Waiting can get to 30 to 40 minutes
Get your pick on the famous crossing ????
Is cool to see the street, the best view is from the little monument in front of the crossing. .
Attn tourists : This is a busy street. If you stand in the middle of it long enough, you *will* get hit by a car. Pay attention to the traffic instead of whomever is taking your photo.
Watching the tourists posing on the crossing and the car drivers waiting for them to get out of their way is the best part of it.
It's a bit touristy and fairly cheesy, but the abbey road studio shop is pretty cool.
Diagonally across is Abbey Road Studio . Guests are not allowed to be in the car park vicinity of the building. Appreciation on the outside, please. :(
Feels rood the stop the traffic for a picture. But nice piece of history
It remind me of the Beatles
Look out for Japanese tourists doing the Genesis 'I can't dance ' walk over crossing :) classic!
Don't forget to visit the store.
Hard to believe there's no police to make sure tourists don't get hit by cars.
Menj at a zebran!
There's literally nothing there but tourists . But oh well , you gotta go once in your life..
The most weird place ever :)
Historical grounds from a great album.
The Beatles
It’s okay to stop by to smell Beatles history but there are much better things to see in London :-)
Must-visit place in London ????
There’s always someone crossing the road
Walk across barefoot. Do it. You might get some funny looks, but it's totally worth it.
Neat to see but ridiculously busy intersection .
Historical landmark !
Overcrowded, People don't care about car and Locals.
Always busy with tourists
Walk on. Don’t slow down the traffic
Get a picture fast, before cars run you over
Londoners don't give a f*ck for tourists that are trying to take pictures ????
Dangerous. It should be removed.
Very crowded
Look both ways before you cross the road .
Don't forget to visit Abbey Road studios .
Pose quickly...angry drivers about.
