We got one of their cheesy pasta , Procetta and their chicken . It was super delicious! The service was great. If you like good italian food then this is your spot. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it
One of my favorite spots in NYC. You'll want to stay all day eating the bowls of pasta (start w/ Bucatini Casio e Pepe) and paninis (start w/ Salame Rosa & Salva Creamasco), and drinking wine .
Aside from all the food being delicious, do yourself a favor and buy a bottle of their olive oil . Take it home and just bathe all your own food in it for a little piece of extended joy!
Loved this restaurant ! Has such a cosy, ambient atmosphere. Definitely a one for Italian food & wine lovers, specialising in baked breads and cured meats . Starters were my favourite! Friendly staff .
Delicious Italian in a lively atmosphere , but the real stars of the show are the short ribs for 2, the porcetta sandwich and the Cacio e Pepe . They're totally worth the hype.
The Bitches say: A-. It didn’t take any photo doctoring to capture the beauty of Il Buco’s brunch dishes . They were unique, delicious, and true Italian cooking . Brunch here is an absolute treat. Read more
The breakfast pizza with house cured prosciutto is great and big enough to feed two. Sneaky good brunch spot that takes reservations .
In the morning, a casual cafe offering light breakfast dishes . In the middle of the day, an Italian delicatessen . And at night, a bustling bar and dining room serving a menu of rustic Italian fare .
Delicious food and drinks with a nice and friendly staff . You can also get a lot of items for takeaway for a lower price than many bakeries . I happily snagged some bread loaves for home.
The bucatini cacio e pepe is al dente AF. This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, and not JUST because I ate next to Sally Field the first time. DO NOT skip desert , especially the panna cotta .
Too brightly lit & store-like to be romantic , but food is delicious. My picks: crispy artichokes , bone marrow carpaccio , bucatini cacio e pepe , & porchetta . Finish w their oh-so-silky zuppa inglese.
The offshoot of Il Buco just nails everything it tries, from the housemade charcuterie to the gelato for dessert . In a town of so many Italian restaurants , this is one to know.
The persimmon salad with Sicilian pistachio was amazing, Cace e Pepe was best in class , Branzino was deboned and super fresh highly recommend !
Holy crap this food is good. Best of what we ordered were the pulpo , crispy artichokes , and the spaghetti bottarga . Skip the squid ink pasta and the Arctic char (both were good but pale in comparison.
You can't go wrong with any of the choices here. Everything is delicious. The only change I wish they made is the staff up front. They aren't helpful nor particularly nice. But the food is delicious!
Could be my favorite casual Italian place in NYC. Not exactly cheap but you feel like you are in Florence. Food and service is good, food is rustic Tuscan Italian. Short ribs are a must.
Pasta was delicious (al dente ) but the portions were a little on the smaller side for the price. Love the ambience and lighting.
Reso Nero had a kick to it and the Ocean Trout was also delicious. Leave room for dessert ! Olive oil cake and Panna Cotta with aged balsamic ????
Start your morning with fried eggs and porchetta on toasted country bread . It's just the right amount of rich -- great way to start your day without making you want to take a nap.
The carbonara is an essential New York bite: pasta tossed with house-cured pancetta , eggs , Parmesan , and black pepper . More places to eat like a local: tandl.me/12ufz7c
Simple, delicious Italian. Love the fried artichoke , the grilled octopus , the quail , and the ricotta ravioli . The panna cotta with aged balsamic is outta this world.
Your ideal meal: acorn squash salad and ricotta bruschetta with grapes to start, bucatini cacio e pepe as the pasta course, and spit-roasted short ribs for a main. Read more
Go for bison tartare and heirloom tomatoes for out of the ordinary appetizers . Ocean trout is a safe entree option, but porchetta is too fatty and its sauce is too sweet. Get the blackcurrant gelato .
Charming. A light bustle for brunch that signals a lot of action going on but enough space to keep the noise level light. Nifty spot that's a little unnoticed from the street but gets plenty traffic.
From the best Porchetta sandwich in the world, the best short rib sandwich in the world, to perfect pastas and salads , this place is truly Magical! I come for lunch often. Meet me! - foodiemagician
Beef tartare topped with rings of hearts of palm is just plain sexy, a hulking plate of beef that is slow-cooked to an impossibly tender finish. Read more
You must have to busiate. I've never seen a pasta like that before and know I'll never forget it!
Perfectly done fried artichokes . Lasagnette is delicious! And the mint chocolate chip gelato that tastes surprisingly like fresh mint is a great way to end this amazing and comforting meal!
Simplest pasta is often the tastiest at the best restaurants . Perfectly cooked spaghetti with cheese and black pepper . The best.
A wonderful experience overall: the crispy cod panini is to die for, their cocktail collection is great and the service is excellent!
In the front: a café , a bakery , and a provisions shop for house-cured salumi or casual lingering. At the back, a dining area with a perfect little menu of Italian classics .
The short ribs for two are just as good as all the tips say. Perfect juicy texture, and plenty of meat for two.
Start with the Hamachi Crudo , Fried Artichokes , Beef Tartare . If you don’t order the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe and the Short Rib for Two you have lost the day!
This is the closest I've found to actually being in Italy. Amazing bakery , sandwiches , small snacks , sweets, preserves, oils, all delicious!
"Super fresh, super clean , and a great presentation. I could sit and eat this all day and still want more!" Chef Chester Gerl Read more
Loved the cacio e pepe but disappointed with the service. It’s a good brunch spot to go to if you want to avoid a wait
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Classic meets modern Italian with some really excellent flavor combinations
Porchetta or Short Rib Sandwiches . The grocery is also fantastic. Their focaccia baguette is one of my favorite breads in NYC. Lardo , cheeses , coppa, whipped lard... Everything is delicious!
Good for late afternoon small plate snack and drink too. Grilled calamari $16 best, cured hamachi good $16.
Get seated at the long table in the back. But if you sit across from each other you'll be yelling all night. Get comfy and sit on the same side of the table.
Every bite of the short ribs is exceedingly luxurious , melt-in-your-mouth, meaty, fatty goodness. Perhaps even too much of a good thing, as you start to feel weighed down half way through the meal.
It's four—maybe more—restaurants in one! Breakfast : sleepy, quiet , delicious. Lunch : hopping; sit at the bar at back. Afternoon: get bread and cured meat to go. Evening: slammed; yummers.
For those who prefer their holiday carbs on the (slightly) less sugary side, Il Buco Alimentari's chocolate cherry hazelnut bread is just the ticket. Read more
Loved this little Italian in NoHo. Great Fred fish options and wine cellar . The polenta and the artichokes are to die for.
Incredible, decadent, fresh Italian just like mom used to make... if your mom was a celebrated Italian chef . Best Italian I've ever had.
Taste the gelati . Menu changes based on what's being butchered downstairs. Nose to tail approach. Incredible pastas . Great for sharing, a date, even family friendly . A true neighborhood gem
Great spot for a chic breakfast . Good coffee and the bomboloni (like donuts but no hole) are great. Ditto the house cured prosciutto . Nice neighborhood vibe & ambiance. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
The short rib sandwich might be the best meaty sandwich I've had in the city . Vainilla gelato was excellent too.
This place got 3 stars from the Times and now you can't really turn up for dinner without a reservation . But they've got a sort-of secret breakfast that's totally delicious. Try the baked eggs .
Get the quattro stagione pizza. Love this place. Met a few celebs here too. Good vibes and good food. - Laura
Vibrant environment and excellent food. Lots of vegetarian options; don't miss the cauliflower. - Kathryn D
Razor Clams and Stracciatella Cheese Toast were phenomenal. Great music - 90s Hip Hop - Dan Fetzner
The downstairs is awesome for private events or late nights - Harald Zurakowski
Long line but it goes by so quick and the staff is so much more cooler at this location. Love their lattes :) - Nicole Velez
So many little theaters! So many choices! Also dinner in the library is lovely. - Sara Y
