kushi-agi - deep fried panko (bread crumb ) covered specialities. Ask for the Yakitori , not listed on the menu, but a secret favorite of the locals. - Linda Cahil
The kitchen is really fast! Sometimes it gets really busy and the waitress/waiters get swamped, but that's understandable. Pretty good food! Try the Katsu don if you are hungry.
They have a great bento box . Surprisingly most of their neighbors don't have a bento box . One caveat, the tonkatsu was a little overcooked the first time I tried it.
Try the California Bento Box - Fried white fish , grilled teriyaki chicken , tossed green salad , rice , maguro sashimi & California sushi . Delish!
They have a full vegetarian menu , and the oshinki roll and fried eggplant starter were great. Veggie udon bowl was undersalted, though.
Portions large. Order one less roll than you think. Service fast and awesome. Get fiery island roll - was really good
Had a beautiful, light, crisp ramen . Could have used another piece of pork . Service was prompt, friendly , helpful for our early before 6pm dinner . Better than Mifune next door .
While the food was good, the giant bug I had to kill with my water glass and the mouse I saw running out as I was leaving really took away from the enjoyment.
The bento boxes are very good, and a good value
Numerous vegetarian menu items, including veggie soba and udon with seaweed broth.
Great portion, good flavor, a bit greasy, though.
Try the Green Tea - Very tasty green tea ! Yum!
Beware the waitress with super short hair ! She's so rude. All of the other waiters are sweet, and the food is great.
Try the Miso Soup - Perfect on a chilly day!
Try the Miso Soup - Reminds me of Hawaii. Yum!
Some of the best (and most generous) uni nigiri sushi I've had. Service was meh, but that could have just been our waitress .
Has not been here for awhile, thought they change but ...mehhh😩
Try the Green Tea - My fave!!
The sukiyaki is pretty good and serving is quite generous
Well , I didn't expect to experience the worst Japanese cooking I have ever tasted at the Japantown, but I did. I ordered chirashi sushi , and it was simply terrible.
Ramen pretty light on toppings: 1 tinyl piece of meat & seaweed , few bamboo shoots , etc.
Try the Agedashi Tofu
Try the tonkatsu
Try the Unagi
Try the Kushi Bento
This place gives you your own tea pot! Love it!
Still the best Udon , hands down.
Try the rice bowl
Try the Green Tea
Try the Miso Soup
Try the Tempura
Try the Tsukemono
Try the kushiage
Try the Asahi Super Dry
I saw a mice run across as I was finishing up with my dinner
Ordered a nabemono and they gave me the wrong item. Waiter delivered the right order later cooked in nothing but plain water!
Just finished "eating" there. The service was absolutely terrible here. Slow, rude, are only just a few words to discernible this place. The food was terrible, didn't finish eating it.
Pretty slow service 😒
Worst Japanese food and service, not worth the time or the dime!
Donburi is good. Service is slow and terrible!
*Sigh* Sushi - Fail.. Average service.
Ramen here is terrible! Service bad too. Go to Mifune next door instead.
La sopa de miso está muy buena y en un día de mal tiempo entra muy bien
Great to pick up lunch-choose from delish bento boxes, sushi, musubi or seaweed salad. Fresh and healthy! - S C
Cute, cheap, very azn goodies! Japanese candy, stationary, pens, stickers... The usual suspects :) - Hana Na
the lunch boat special is great! $9.25 for steamed rice salad soup chicken 6 pieces of sushi 4 pieces of california roll depfried vegtables and shrimp and more! - weston
Katsu Curry was amazing - tasty and perfectly breaded pork had the nicely balanced curry accompanying it! - Kristina Proctor
Japanese crepe has green tea ice cream, red beans, and macha sauce. Delicious! Make sure you add ice cream to any crepe you get. You need to balance out the dry crispy crepe with something creamy - Kelly 🍰
I always go to the one in NY but this is bigger and have a lot more of unique pieces, it is a must to go... - Alberto J S Moreau D
