Schifferstadt was built at the beginning of the French and Indian War as frontier settlers abandoned their western Maryland farms in fear of raids from the French and their Indian allies.
Be sure to take a tour with master docent Pat - he's fantastic and leads a great discussion of this Colonial German Stone House Built c. 1758.
