Lots of people when we did this on MLK Day (a very “LA” crowd, too!). Nice loop with interesting sights. The Sunrise Trail part of the loop seemed to be less crowded . Baby & kid friendly !
Popular with Malibu stars, this 3-mile loop trail features a creek, a 30-foot waterfall , ocean views and a hidden statue of the Virgin Mary. Celebs: Pamela Anderson and Owen Wilson. Read more
Parking is free but come early! Pets allowed on trail . Once you reach the house ruins, continue further up the Rising Sun trail (1.4 mile loop). Highest point on the trail has a excellent ocean view .
Enjoyed this hike ! Better hikes are 10 min away though. Popular, condensed hike on main trail , you will see people (not if u veer off though). I enjoyed the historical elements. Waterfall wasn’t great
Very nice scenery! Take the long trail around or go to the old houses & waterfall up top . Interesting reads on the history markers @ all the old buildings . Use the map by parking if not using gps
You get a waterfall , abandoned old (burned down) homes, a stream with a log & rocks to pass thru/pose on, and a hard work out! Come check this out but pack water & stamina.
Great hike that's not too intensive. Too bad with the LA drought leaving the scenery brown as eff. You get a small peek of the ocean beach but just a sliver.
Awesome getaway and really easy hike . There's a small waterfall up top ! Not crowded !
If you go hiking here I would recommend taking the Rising Sun Trail first. This will lead you to this awesome waterfall at the end! And then the way back is nice and easy (also beautifully lush!)
A beautiful hiking trail . Dog friendly .
Take the hike all the way to the tiny waterfall , it's beautiful
Great hike with some amazing views of the ocean and nearby homes.
Great solitude so close to LA - just keep hiking - the TRW trail gets you up to ocean views .
The higher trails offer breathtaking views
SPF a must if you make the trek to the top for ocean views .
Great place to have lunch , but make sure you pack out all your trash... :)
Dont be shy to bring kids along, CNI has a great nature hike just for them :)
Beauty & Solace! Relaxing!!!
Great waterfall ! Worth the trip...
Lions, tigers and bears oh my!
Look out for snakes & Mountain Lions
Use a stick to cross the stream .
