This is an amazing National Park . The giant saguaro are beautiful and fascinating in their many shapes. Great place to visit.
The prettier of the two halves. Free too, unless you want to help support the park by buying a $10 pass. (Do it.)
Great hiking when the weather is cool. If your lucky the mountains are filled with beautiful wildflowers for a very short time in early spring. Bring plenty of water and food. No food in the park .
Don't forget to view the Voices of the Desert slideshow at the Red Hills visitor center . It provides an amazing Native American perspective on the saguaro cactus .
Love this place! Worth this visit. The sunset behind the mountains was beautiful.
I hate to say it but west is best. East was a nice quick loop and might have more birds. West has way more to offer.
If the NPS visitors center is closed you can get your passport stamp from the east side.
During the winter months join is for the Moonrise Over the Mountains event on the patio overlooking the saguaro filled bajada. It's free and the rangers are great!
Visit the Valley Vista overlook trail in the west district! An easy hike to a beautiful view ! Check out the pictures from my last visit there Read more
