Was an excellent day outing. It was all so gorgeous.I will say to not go on a super hot day and to pace yourself or book more than one day if you walk slower or a thorough reader. My family had a blast
Great way to spend the day! Mix of animals, plants, and geology. Also a great mix of a museum , botanical garden , and wildlife preserve. Highly recommended!
Wow!! This is so nice. You could not miss to come check how's cool here. They have nice stuffs that you can tell you about there and answer your question. Don't forget take some WATER!!!
Love the exhibit on history of Arizona in geological time, the bear and the butterflies and other animals, and the drive there is amazing for all the sagueros along the road .
It's even got fish ! This place is huge and you may need a few days. Most of it is outdoors and alot of walking around. There is an indoor children's area for hot days.
This is a great place to see and learn about all of the animals living in the Sonoran Desert . Tourists and natives alike will love this place. The animals are always out and it has hiking too.
Cannot recommend this place enough. Beautiful setting with lots to see and learn. Definitely take one of the docent led tours in the morning - ours was incredibly interesting.
What an amazing museum ! You get a great understanding and appreciation of the plants and animals that live in the beautiful Sonora Desert . It's a must see when visiting Tuscon.
This is a really unique little museum . Make sure you grab a map before you head out on the trails , otherwise you'll miss an exhibit . Check out the hummingbird aviary and bring your camera .
I have been here many times. I can't get enough of The Sonora Desert Museum . It's beauty. What it represents to us nature lovers. Everyone should experience this at least one time, if not more. I do!
So many different things to see: animals, reptiles...My family had a great time. All of the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable . Only negative is they don't sell single waters to go..
I feel betrayed. We didn't see any cats. I went for the puma & all I got was some high school kids geeking out on tarantula.
Everything! My favorites are Prairie dog's, BigHorn Sheep. And if your a Arizona resident you get $5 off your ticket to get in! So then it's $15. Well worth either price!
Good place for families- lots of animals to look at and short walks thru “the desert ” to give you a sense of the landscape and plants.
Raptor free flight is outstanding. Best time to visit is when they open. Many more animals are out and about then. Spring is the best time for wildflowers .

What a great place to see AZ plants and flowers and see animals in natural habitats. Don't miss the Raptor Free Flight or the Hummingbird House - both amazing. And super nice volunteers, too!
I love it, but it IS a tourist trap. Definitely cool for out-of-towners, but only once; after that it's a bit dull. See the raptor free flight program ...very cool
Go early to see the young mountain lion rescued from Cali. He's active then. ????
This is basically a zoo but for animals native to Arizona. It’s a great way to see some of the animals that are hard to see.

Night tours are great. Important tips: Take a flashlight and buy a black light flashlight so you can spot hidden insects.
I took my best hummingbird pictures here!
Wear a bright red shirt . Have a seat in the hummingbird aviary . Sit completely still for a few minutes. Marvel at the curious hummingbirds buzzing you.
A wonderful experience. The rapture in flight exhibit is amazing!

Being lots of water and a wide brim hat. I like to carry a camelback packed with ice and water.

Great place to learn about the different kinds of deserts . Best to go in the morning or the afternoon.
