Definitely do the hike down. It’s about 15 minutes down and 20-25 minutes up. Grab a walking stick from the pile to the left of the trail head. It is worth it!

Brad Hager

Stunning view from the top. Great hike down and nice park and photo opts at the bottom . Definitely worth it.

Matt Ta-Min

Totally awesome views of the coastline and the valley. Completely worth the drive all the way to the end of the road .

Sarah Lincoln

Hike down! It's not too far and there is a gorgeous black sand beach at the bottom . Bring water though, because the hike back up is tiring.

Weather can be a bit iffy. It was sunny till we got there then rain. Nice overlook, but if you're looking for black sand, there's plenty of other places.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Worth the drive to the end of the road .

Hiking down the trail into the valley takes about 20 minutes and 30 minutes back up. Lonely Planet said it'd be worth it! We didn't bring enough time though... :(
