Such a gorgeous space, especially in the “garden .” Loved every dish: deviled eggs , uni biscuit , black cod , lobster roll , butternut ravioli , and the miso donuts . Super unique dishes with robust flavors

Share dishes (eg., kale w/almonds & pecorino ; pumpkin toast ; Hinoki black cod ) & try their specialty drinks , too (eg, "son of a bee sting" - gin , ginger , lemon , rose water ). Very unique place indeed!
Incredible menu, spectacular drinks, extremely friendly & knowledgeable staff . Outdoor seating has a beautiful relaxing feel and very zen. I will continue to recommend this place for years to come.

Great location for groups, good music , food, drinks, outdoor dining , and fun. It's starting to become one of my faves to visit when friends come in town .
The attention to the sense of touch is clear in the melting softness of that black cod , in the silken beef tartare , in the wetness of the chili crab toast matched with the cucumber underneath. Read more
The drinks are by a mixologist from Milk & Honey and the Asian-inspired menu still incorporates the fresh, healthy fare Myers is known for, including a raved about lobster roll and kale salad . Read more
Nothing in the area but this it seems... but awesome Asian/Californian tapas . Fish churros to start followed by boar ribs , chicken dumps and the bass, all 👌🏻 and we saw Cuba Gooding Jr. 🤗
The lobster roll at this Japanese-American eatery is far from traditional: The meat gets a twist with a hint of citrus , green curry and basil , and it’s served on a black, charcoal bun . Read more
Always a sweet ending at Hinoki & the Bird. Kalamansi-shiso sorbet , black sesame ice cream with lemon and hibiscus , miso ice cream with butterscotch and togarashi, and matcha zephyr.
I love how negronis are the new trendy cocktail . Four delicious takes on the classic here. Highly recommend the Kingston negroni if you want a tropical twist.
My new fave place in LA. There is (amazing) food for everyone. Beef tartare is amongst the best I ve had, and black cod is - wait for it - better than nobu. So tender. Great vibe
one of my favorite places. the roasted yam is ridiculous. a must. and the beef tartare is silky, fresh and perfectly seasoned. can't wait to go back and have more.
Aside from the ridiculous $28 parking , this hotel lounge/bar is well worth the experience. Every item we tried was a MOFOing delicacy. The miso mochi is seriously out of this world.
Housed in an upscale 42-storey tower. The menu is inspired by the Silk Road , try the grilled drunken duck breast and hinoki-scented black cod served with a piece of the namesake hinoki cypress wood. Read more
Fantastic food & great space! Highlights include crab toast , pumpkin toast , beef tartare & black cod . Kale salad was bland, lobster roll was nothing special & didn't love desserts . Great meal overall!
Really amazing food. Everything tasted delicious! Patio is cute . My favs on the menu were the mussels , salmon and pumpkin toast . And for dessert the miso mochi is a MUST!

Such a cool space. Get the lobster roll , chicken dumplings , sweet potato , and sashimi spoons.
Loved the crab toast , lobster roll , pork belly calamari , the miso donuts , cottage cheese cake . Beautiful restaurant and good service . Great plates of food to share.
Black cod , wild boar ribs are excellent. Lobster ramen only served on Fridays so be sure to call and ask for it ahead of time.
Tasty spicy lobster roll on a black bun . The miso cod was delish as were the yellowtail and hamachi crudo . The short ribs were good, but the pork belly was amazing!

Yummiest weirdest black sandwich (Lobster Rolls ) I've ever had👅.. The atmosphere is spectacular💙.. Lovely staff
Good cocktails . Great food. Pretty slick but casual , organic vibe considering they’re basically next to a parking garage by The FOX building.

All the food was great, atmosphere and service were both nice. Parking lot nearby is a small fortune.
Amazing on point service! Food is very tasty. No pretense here...just delicious food, friendly people and homey yet sexy atmosphere

Amazing service, great food, and extensive wine list . I had a party in my mouth that didn't want to end.

Food, music , interiors were perfect for Friday night. Jamal Lane creates playlists for the owner to use as H&B OST.
THE most perfect meal in LA of 2013. If you can handle the heat (and you're Asian), you must get the Sambal Skate Wing #ToDieFor
You may look like an idiot trying to open the door, so let someone do it for you. Even if you do end up looking like an idiot, the meal will be worth it.
EVERYTHING is good. FYI Don't wear a Japanese denim shirt like I did. It's the uniform for all of their servers...
My favorite meal of 2013! Every dish was amazing especially the crab cakes and cocktails .
Miso mochi ! Black cod ! Also read the sign before you just pull into the structure . Probably parked in the wrong one cause it was $28.
Lunch options were impressive. Great service. Try the crab toast and curry monkfish !
Gimme some more sweet baby Jane. Everything was delish. Try the crab toast and the yams .
Tartare & sashimi , duck fried rice ,little gem salad .
Food is amazing. Lobster Roll , Chili Crab Toast and Skate Wing are a must.
Try the black cod and the chicken .. Very nice
Try the okra...perfect blend of fresh, crisp, salt and heat! As a Southerner, I know my okra .
The yam is amazing.
All the food was excellent... Really, nothing was sub par. Especially liked the grilled octopus and the mussels .
Hanoki Black Cod us the best main dish and pork chop is also good
pork belly , hamachi , and deffffinitely some of those miso donuts ...
they had a vegan menu! tapa style Japanese. ask for recommendations.. we had a tofu pancake, tons of yummy veggies. loved the eggplant! vegan cheesecake was a lil gritty. - Dianna K
