Minimalist Japanese cafe , very comfortable , great service & great food. They offer a variety of rice balls that can be coupled with soups & small sides. For dinner they have a variety of rice bowls .

Natasha S

I ordered the rice ball lunch special and it was tasty! It comes with 2 rice balls , 1 specialty miso soup , and a side dish for $10.5. Good food and a really nice atmosphere. They have wifi too!

The onigiri are so good- had the kinoko & beef sukiyaki . The kinoko soup was also very good. The kurogoma shortbread cookies is nice as well . Glad to hear that the owner is from Kansai in Japan!

Ames Vuong

Rice combo is a great deal for lunch - can't go wrong with any onigiri here. Wifi 's slow, but it's a nice, quiet place for reading, writing, or meeting someone. Wonderful atmosphere

Aleson Ho

I get lunch combo here when I'm not in the mood for salad . Portions are small if you're used to getting sandwiches or Chipotle for lunch . I like the pickle-y omusubi , Wakame and Ume. Try Hawaiian too!

Tiffany

Cute Japanese food shop in the busy garment district. They have good lunch deals for two rice balls and a miso soup . Also try the green tea roll cake if you have room for dessert !

Diana Olympia

tofu miso meh and TINY side so not an amazing lunch special but rice balls are good quality. i like the Hawaiian and Cha-Su Pork . also, no espresso drinks here and whole milk or half & half only

YJ Han

Many kinds of home made types of Japanese onigiry (rice ball ) will welcome you.I definately recommend the lunch special : two onigiri+soup+one side dish. Not very salty or spicy but not too simple.

Mark Bramhill

The origiri here are the best in NYC — and it's a great value . The ume is a classic that they do perfectly, and the Sweet Potato and Sukiyaki are also great. 🍙🍙🍙🍙🍙

David

Everything is fresh and tasty. Not crowded , and pretty quiet even at lunchtime on a weekday.

Healthy eating. Combo gets you miso (BLT!), 2 rice balls (liked the chashu and sweet potato ) and a side (okra > spinach ). Tomago pudding is barely tomago, more like a flan

Love this place!! Perfect for a light lunch that doesn't put you to sleep in the afternoon. Lunch combo includes 2 rice balls , a soup and 2 sides.

Ernesto Gutierrez

Great decor. The rice ball lunch special is delicious, but the amount of meat they use is scarce. If you eat a lot you will most likely walk out hungry.

Zlata Zubenko

Get the lunch combo ! I enjoyed Hawaiian and Pork omusubi with Kinoko miso with a side of potato salad and pickled vegetables

JapanCultureNYC

The lunch set is tasty and nutritious! You can choose two onigiri (rice balls ) that have delicious fillings, a side dish, and miso soup . Perfect lunch !

Michael Goitein

Service was quick, food was clean & tasty, with nice Japanese twists on different flavors. The set Omusubi menu isn't a large portion , but certainly quality food.

Sara Singer

Enjoyed a lovely light lunch of miso soup and rice balls ...but don't miss the Hanamizuki dessert particularly if you love coffee - outstanding!

Rita L

Cute cafe , good for dates or just to hang out. Desserts are quite good. Try the roll cakes and coffee jello!

Ranu Rajkarnikar

Onigiri (rice balls ) options galore! Also, great coffee and a cute relaxed environment - solid spot for a quick lunch in the neighborhood .

Foxxy B

$10 - $12 gets you a couple awesome rice balls & miso soup , all of varying flavors. Adorable japanese lunch spot takes me back to Tokyo!

Jinnie L

Love this yummy Japanese place! Yummy omusubi (rice balls ) n miso soup :) my fav. = Hawaiian & unagI rice balls ~ but ume is tasty too

Jess Huey

Very cute Japanese cafe with rice balls and roll cakes and a nice place to relax for lunch

Jo

Great cheap lunch spot . Two rice balls , a side and miso soup for 12$. Plus the cafe is really cute .

stephiedoo

Just great and light Japanese lunch fare. Go for the spam musubi , even if you don't like spam.

Patrick Z

Service is amazing! The baristas put a lot of love into each delicious goody!

Edmund Boey

A tiny little bit of Japan in New York, a cafe down stairs, an art studio in the loft space, cute !

Irene Mavridis

Great, affordable , hidden Japanese spot in the Chelsea area. Anything you eat there is amazing!

Chetta

AWESOME DECOR. Refreshing brunch bites, la colombe coffee , and the tea is tops. Best cafe in the area!

Myriam D.

So good! Perfect price, cute decor, good food. Get a rice ball combo, great value !

Tessa Domzalski

Come for the ambience. The onigiri are tiny and pricy , I'd go to Cafe Zaiya instead. They are pretty creative though. Love the lunch special , even if it isn't very filling.

Jerome

Lunch combo menu with sweet potatoes and unagi omusubi and okra sox au awesome okra okra

Scott Underwood

Everything! The food is Fantastic and the price can't be beat. (Especially the lunch combo )

Anna NYC

Great miso and selection of rice balls . Everything tastes really fresh. Lovely bright space

Amik ☠

Everything is pretty good, particularly the sukiyaki omusubi ... miso soup could use a lot of work though.

Brad Willard

Delish rice triangles in a beautiful space that makes me nostalgic for Japan

Ryan Haigh

A breath of fresh air in an area otherwise littered with chain restaurants and tourists . Lunch/rice combo meal was clutch.

Ru Lu

Beautiful interior , definitely a good concept for restaurant , perfect combo between oosaka and nyc.

Colin Lee

The lemon ginger tea and cake rolls are worth getting. Relaxing ambiance .

Jasmine Buttolph

Not vegetarian friendly . It's good to know before you go so you don't plan on having the tofu dish made with fish sauce . Otherwise was really adorable. Food looked good.

Bryan L

Hawaiian Musubi . Good Ambience, great place to chill and relax. Defs hidden gem !

Alex Robertson

Wholly disappointing imho: miso soup , rice balls , okra—none of them were so good

Runqiu Cai

The green tea roll cake is delicious!

Luc Doan

Onigiri , snacks and tea . Great Japanese art cafe feel

Mina Talai

A bit pricey lunch , but it was pretty good. Recommended if craving Japanese comfort food !

Mike Hopkins

Everything is great. Love the miso soup and the Hawaiian.

Alexandra Levitas

Really nice atmosphere, interesting choices, decently priced and well sized. Sadly, it's not the best Japanese food ... the miso is just average.

Dave Altarescu

Curry , kimoko, sukiyaki balls were all delicious

Monica Paez

Lunch specials with rice balls are delicious

Geoffrey Haratyk

Simply delicious, healthy, peaceful Japanese cafe
