Date spot alert! The crispy chicken flakes right off the bone; the pappardelle was substantial but on the heavier side. I'd go back -- and that trip will include the bread pudding !

Beka C

One of the best Italian restaurants in the city , let alone uptown. Best way I can describe it "exotic Italian"...with great specials and well curated wine selection . It's a hidden gem true NYers

Josette

Great atmosphere, reminds me of the small, lovely restaurants of Tuscany . The best Italian bread in NYC, hot from their oven. Wish pasta was not over cooked!

Village Voice

This spot gets a lot of recognition on the UES, and for good reason. Their chicken al mattone is so delicious, crispy , and moist it will take the edge off how long it took you to score a reservation .

Ben Waters

Sit at the bar , and order the pappardelle and seasonal dessert tart . You can't go wrong with any of the cocktails (especially the tangerine cello). The roast chicken is a staple and always delicious.

Warrent Satt

Widely praised for “authentic” Italian cooking , “knowledgeable ” servers and “romantic” “farmhouse” digs, “the real deal”; though “pricey ”, most agree it’s “worth the money”

Gloria Dumas

Everyone says sit at the bar and have the bolognese . It's true. To die for. The house made bread is a homey indulgence. Could've passed on the semi freddo

Roger Schonfeld

They did something wonderful with the cauliflower that was part of the antipasti last night. Pastas were worth traveling for. Bread pudding and diff tart worth an airplane ride.

Village Voice

The lovely intimate atmosphere (they work with a 10 person dining area) make it advisable to call ahead for a reservation . Worth every minute!

Roger Schonfeld

Lovely smart knowledgeable un-fussy service. Pricy wine list with a few Kress expensive "funky" options well worth trying.

Elizabeth Closmore

Make a res! Order the Antipasti - I hate Brussels sprouts and they were incredible along with some incredible mushrooms . Also a winning cheese plate .

Caroline Schulweis

The bolognese pasta and chicken entree were delicious. Our entire table loved the cauliflower side as well .

Their fresh-baked bread is washed in olive oil and dusted with salt. Buy a loaf - they sell out quickly!

connie

Come for lunch , no reseys needed. Share the chicken and save room for the panna cotta .

The 3 best dishes: pappardelle alla Bolognese , Sfoglia’s chicken al mattone and Bread Pudding !!!

Christopher Pepe

The gnocchi with pork shoulder is amomg the best pasta dishes I've ever tasted.

EatMeDrinkMeNYC

The chicken . You have to get the chicken . So moist! The secret is the brick oven . They are so confident you'll love it that no sides accompany it.

Go for the blueberry cobbler if they have it!

Save room for the bread pudding—it’s difficult, but worth it. The dish needs to be ordered when you arrive and is meant to be shared. Read more

This place was just average!

Scott Damassa

Pappardelle bolognese was heavy and overbooked. Given the other high reviews, I bet it was just an off night.
