This place is fantastic and very cheap . We read the recommendations and had the momo dumplings and chasha shamdey . We also loved the beef shapta . Definitely on the regular rotation now.
I had the beef dumplings and they were delicious. I grabbed a mango lassi to-go and it was delicious. Friendly service and good prices!
Lunch specials are very good and cheap . A lot of vegetarian options . The noodle soup is the cure for a cold day. Their ginger tea is amazing too.
Perfect comfort food in cold weather. Little cozy place. Staff is friendly . Love the food, very authentic . Definitely one of my favs in East Village .
This place is dope. Everything we ordered was great. Friends liked Chili chicken a lot. I loved the bean noodles with the parantha . Cheap wine + food. Perfecto
Good vegan options . The thukpa is delicious and perfect on a cold day!
Been here multi times and never disappointed. I always got the fried dumplings . Everything there is also really good.
This place is a hidden gem . Friendly service , cheap and delicious momos , noodles and chili tofu / chicken . Everything they make is so tasty!
Everything on the menu is awesome. Chili Chicken , Tsel Shesha and Gyathuk Takpa and Sha Thukpa are some of my all time favorites.
The sweet potato dumplings are great, the hot sause it's mild enough that you can use enough of it on them to flavor it. The bocha tea is interesting, kinda salty, prob. Good with a sweet dessert .
Great spot for vegetarians . Love the dumplings and crispy noodles . Limited seating both inside and out, holds up for delivery too. No longer BYOB !
Share the momos and get the Luksha Shamdey. Cubes of tender lamb curry and soft potato chunks with a bowl of fluffy jasmine rice . FYI Amex is not accepted.
My favorite vegetarian dish is #16 Tsel Gyathuk Ngopa, which is sauteed noodles mixed with fresh green vegetables and tofu . Make sure you add the chili sauce that you get on the side.
The dumplings ! Get the dumplings . Otherwise a lot of the stuff tastes the same. Solid choices: beef momos and pan fried noodles
Open since 2001 and really good. Feels legit. Momo were delicious

This spot is great for vegetarians . Definitely try the Chilli Dofu, it's delicious. It's no longer BYOB , but they have cheap beer and wine .
This place is the East Village 's best kept secret. Absolutely fantastic food and friendly service at absurdly low prices. $5.99 for lunch ? Am I dreaming?
a little hidden gem on East 1st street. Great lunch special and excellent authentic tibetan food.
Got vegetarian food . The 2 veg dumpling options were good. Tsel Shesha was great too, I was skeptical but proven wrong!
One of the best spots in town . Super affordable and always delicious. Sha momo and pratha all the way.
Juicy and scrumptious - the momos are the best - try them steamed or pan fried
Try the chili butternut squash dish. The sweetness of the squash complements the spice. Nice flavors.
one of the only places that doesn't bread their tofu ! yes! also, order chili anything - the seasonings are incredible.
Has to be one of the best deals in town . Get any of the soups for a hearty and heart-warming appetizer . Everything I've had is delicious!
Alongside firm strips of tofu in the Chili Doufu ($7.99), you’ll find red and green pepper , onion , tomato and other spices that make the dish a panoply of textures. Read more
One of my favorites in NYC! Get everything. ???????? perfect soups for a cold night.
Inexpensive and delicious. The curry was sublime and the Avocado Salad is a must.
Got the chicken and noodles lunch special for $6.50. Awesome deal! Also check out the cool pictures of Everest.
#17 + dumplings , one of the best meals available v. price in lower manhattan
Best momos . Chili chicken and gyathuk takpa were amazing. Top spot!
Extremely vegetarian friendly . Have avocado salad and one of the dumplings (momo ) for the table
Try the chicken curry off the lunch specials menu .
The vegetarian options are super!
A pretty small place. Ignore the decor and concentrate on those juicy momos . Definitely worth a visit.
Eat in or get delivery . Both works well . Chili Dofu and Seasonal veggies awesome. Homemade yogurt , great noodles and friendly staff .
The Ginger is the best in the city !!! Get it hot or cold. Also get the Potato Momos .
Eat the Shapta (Tibetan spicy beef and veggies ). Oh, and for the record this cuisine is Himalayan (Tibetan and Nepalese ), not Indian.
I had the chasha and it was pretty good! Mango lassi is deliciuos.
Shapta . Everything is so flavourful and good spicy
Delicious Nepalese cuisine. Great food in a very unassuming setting.
When I lived nearby I ate here all the time. Affordable and tasty.
Try the veggi potato dumplings they are delish... Beware of the sauce on the side it's crazy spicy
Chicken curry ! Mango lassi . Cheap wine
Great food, multiple vegetarian and paleo options, and great price.
The dumplings are fire, as is the shapta .. I could lick the plate!
Great Himalayan dumplings .
If you're a fan of the savory, try the Bocha Himalayan tea . It's basically a salty bitch slap.
Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Amazing food!!
Pan fried momos and chili chicken . Just trust me!
We went for the duck Haleem but stayed for dinner. So good ! Try the bone marrow kulcha and som Ras cocktail ! The thaali looks so good and amazingly priced! Must go back! - Ebrahim Bandookwala
