Get off the trail and do some legit exploring, then you'll have a real challenge and awesome views of the Potomac ! Meets up with PHT too. *not liable for anyone who uses this tip though*
I can see how people would get lost here. The trails are not marked because its a Nature preserve so they try to do as little as possible to change the landscape. Park at the big gravel parking lot
1. Wear water shoes (slick algae on rocks @ waterfall . 2. Be ready for a 2 mi walking trail to the falls. 3. Private pretty scene 4. No grill but prob a good camp/picnic spot.
Beautiful sight of the Potomac River
Excellent park . Nice track
Easy trail access.
Whoever owns this park needs to put up better blazes.
Smells like sewage, but there is a pretty waterfall .

The trails are secluded and not always cleared but definitely worth the effort. - Maggie MacG
The Billy Goat trail is a challenging, but fun hike. The trail sometimes closes when there is heavy rain. Wear hiking boots or really good sneakers. - Miriam Wolk
Love both the Cowgirl and Westover sandwiches. Probably some of the best sandwiches around. - Andrew Spence
