Forget Brooklyn. Forget lower Manhattan. Forget Italy . The best pizza is here. Bold statement? Yes. True? Yes. I've had plenty of pizza in my lifetime, this takes it all. Pizza perfection at its best.
Great cozy authentic Italian spot . Delicious pizza , house made mozz , perfect espresso , and wonderful staff ! Came here with my boyfriend about a month ago and are looking forward to going back.
Eggplant Parmesan was amazing! Definitely the best pizza in the upper east side. It is also maybe the most expensive one! Expect to pay $50 per person if you are going for the real Italian experience!
Order the Antipasti . Fresh ricotta , Narragansett, prosciutto , red peppers & olives . We added fresh Figs & they were delish!
Nice staff , great authentic Italian pizza . Tried the Napolitana and it was awesome. Nice staff . If you are from Salerno you will feel at home.
Be transported back to Italy in this small, local establishment . Service is extremely personable and the food is spectacular. Everything homemade and delicious- try the meatballs in addition to pizza !
Probably the best pizza in the UES. Staff is also really friendly ! The eggplant parm was also very nice if you want to try something a little different.
Tiny Neopolitan pizza sis (w/ lil' seating) of better San Matteo (90th St / 2nd Ave). Same great pizza , less menu options. Called 2 workers here who didn't know addy - how do U get to work daily?!!
Eggplant parm is outta this world. Friendly , actually Italian staff that entices actual Italians to dine here. Small, so come at an off hour or prepare to wait! But it’s worth it.
Best Neapolitan style pizza on the Upper East Side. One of my favorite places for pies made with super fresh/authentic ingredients. Also try il Salumaio, their sister restaurant .
Good pizza , cute small pace. very cozy and service as good it can gets. Buffalo mozzarella is great too as well gnocchi ...!!
The pizza is simply outstanding!! Ciro (the owner) comes from my town in Southern Italy , he's a great character, have a chat with him if he's in!
I don't know why I still peruse the menu when I always end up ordering the Tartufata! Whatever dessert they have, it's worth a try! Best Neapolitan I've had and a great atmosphere!
For my fellow vegetarians , I recommend the capricciosa (red, without ham ) and patate e Porcini (white). Superb stuff.
Looking for italian food ? Wanna hear/speak Italian? This is the place. Doesn't have a full menu of Primos and Secondos. But this little place will give you a little taste of it, specially the pizzas .
The homemade mozzarella and the creamy burrata were perfect on their delicious pizzas . So was the prosciutto appetizer .
After all the comments, I was expecting to be blown away. The margherita pizza was authentic with a puffy base but I've had better sauces on Napoli pizzas . Friendly & efficient service and great wines
Seriously some of the best pizza I've had in NYC. Great wine selection and not too expensive . Get the eggplant parm app split a pizza and the arugula salad .
Amazing Naples-style pizza place on the UES. Can't go wrong with any of the pizzas , so delicious. Great service and authentic atmosphere
Got the Ripieno Calzoni which was delicious. The sauce and dough are amazing. The portions are huge! Definitely not the same calzones from your local pizza joint
San Matteo is a slice of Italy in the upper east side accompanied with authentic food. I wouldn't get the gnocchi again, but the margarita pizza was close to perfection.
Best pizza in NYC ! If you're in a daring mood try one of the specialty pizzas . Some of the topping combinations seem weird however they know what they are talking about.
Real authentic Italian pizza . Owners are from Italy ... Small little hole in the wall but it's good. We had the margarita pizza !
No need to go downtown or Brooklyn. The pizza is here. Try their gnocchi too. Tutto bene! :)
The margherita pizza is the best I've ever had. Split it and a salad with a date — you'll still have room for tiramisu and espresso ;)
Nice and cozy Italian spot where all food is “true” Italian. Make sure you have at least a couple of Italian words in your vocabulary.
My mouth is still watering thinking about the pizza here! Hole in the wall , owner only speaks Italian, amazing pizzas and wines ! ????????????
Best pizza in NYC , hands down! Freshest ingredients and no fluff. Very tight and cozy restaurant , well worth any wait.
ordered pizza at home, full of disappointment. firstly the size, secondly the kind, in the third taste the dough was with sourish, a bit thick. maybe the restaurant is well done.
Hidden gem of a pizza joint on the UES. Their Il Salumaio pizza (burrata , mortadella , and basil ) is incredible!!
Amazing, authentic Italian pizza . Taste of Italy in Yorkville. Di Blasio and his family eats there too! Great wine too!
Quattro formaggi is excellent. Best to split a cheesy pizza and a tomato-based one. Leave room for tiramisu
How does this place get so little attention in the NYC pizza world? It's excellent. The panuozzo and calzone are also fantastic.
Best pizza I've had on UES; and comes out quick from the brick oven . The Capricciosa is my go-to on the menu. For caffeine, the Macchiato can't be beat.
Good Napoleon style pizza in an unassuming shop on UES corner, a tad overpriced though
One of the top pizzas in NYC , IMHO. The sauce, perfect. The bread , amazing. The vibe, NY Italian, done just right.
The crust is absolutely perfect here, you cannot go wrong with any of the pies!
Heard the raves in zagats about the pizza being on the best in NYC. It was okay but not well done or served in an appetizing way.
panuozzo ! And really good pizzas . Very authentic . Salerno!
Authentic Neapolitan pizza . Best I've had yet in NYC. The service is quick and straightforward.
Great service, excellent food, high quality ingredients.
The best pizza in NYC . Hell, this pizza is better than in Italy . Go now
The pizza here is delicious and the perfect size for one person
Probably one of the best Italian pizzas and antipasti i have had in New York!
Great pizza and salads in an authentic Italian spot . Management is terrific.
Antipasto , pizza , wine . Get the special antipasto and share it.
Authentic and delicious Italian pizza . Wonderful on weeknights when it's less crowded .
Delicious pizza with a side of true Italian service: enthusiastic and opinionated.
Pretty disappointed in all of their appetizers . Everything was overly fried and oily, especially the zucchini flowers . They were more like fritters . Drinks were very watered down too.
Pizza and service were fantastic. Great value
These guys are amazing! I've had Sicilians there since the early 90s and they had been and still are the best in the world! I meanwhile live in Europe and after landing this is my first destination! - Mark Pfeiffer
We got a pizza with sausage, onions and peppers and it was delicious! Also, really enjoy the penne vodka. Overall, solid food! - Jessie Catana
Best pizza on UES... they just renovated this space and it's super bright and airy and new -- pizza is still phenomenal, but pricier than other places // well worth it and staff is super friendly!!! - Andrew C
Very inconspicuous bar with good drink and fair pricing. Great for dates. - Philip Harper
Incredible museum. So much to see and to learn! Friday & Saturday it’s open till 9 pm, and the ticket works for 3 days! We spent 2 evenings there without crowds. We’ll be back. Loved Egyptian exhibit. - Diana Arz
Came for Star Wars midnight show. The staff was great. Small theater. Sound is ok and the theater is clean. Solid and serviceable but not an out of this world experience. - Victoria U.
