The Belfry tower is no less than 83 metres high! On your way to the top you will discover the old treasury room, an impressive clock mechanism and a carillon with 47 bells. After 366 steps, your athletic efforts will be rewarded with a breath-taking view of Bruges and its surrounding countryside.
Markt 7 8000 Bruges Belgium
Bruges's most iconic symbol. A carillon with 47 bells , 83m tall, 366 steps to the top offering a great view of the city . UNESCO World Heritage .
If you are hesitating going up...don't! The stairs are not that steep, you can stop quite a lot of times. Of course it gets a little narrow towards the top. It's really worth the effort going up!
The queues are long because the tower operates a one in one out policy once capacity is reached (70 people) - get there early before the coach loads of tourists arrive. The views at the top are great.
Stairs get very narrow towards the top, but that's part of the fun! Lots of pit-stops on the way up. Make sure you time it so you see the drum/bells in action when you're near the top! Well worth €8.
The Belfry or Belfort is probably the most famous of the several famous landmarks in Bruges???? The tower is actually leaning slightly to the east ????
You'll be amazed learning the history of this construction and waw the ingeneering of the tambour and the timing when ringing the bells Amazing visit (and a hard exercice to do too but worth it!)
It’s €14 for adults nowadays for entry. Prepare to climb up many windy stairs for the view . There’s a couple of stops along the way to learn about the bells . During Fall 2021 there was no line .
Stairs are really not that steep, with 4 rooms in between to stop. You can see the drum and the bells of the Carillon working inside the tower if you time it well . Doors close at 4 if there's a line .
Very cool. Worth the climb up. You get a very good view of the city . See if you can start climbing when it’s almost hour change, you get to see the mechanical bells in motion.
Beautiful place and I'm sure the view is magnificent, but there were so many tourists ! I decided to leave it for next time I come to Brussels.
Do go up and the views frm top r stunning. Only 70 people r allowed on top and hence the queue. 8 euros and narrow 366 steps to climb! Worth it for the views of bruges frm top!
If you start climbing about 15 minutes before the hour you'll be treated with a musical surprise at the top. Beware, it's loud !
Great view from the tower. 366 steps - some of them very narrow, - make the climb quite challenging. Hearing Protection for children might be a good idea.
Really worth it although too much steps to claim but you can stop and rest in between in a room aside but when up there and see the view you will feel really it is rewarding
The Belfort van Brugge is beautiful and imposing! Take a picture of its best angles from the northwest corner of the building and from across the Markt.
I've climbed like a hundred towers so far, but those stairs are something! Be careful! View is fantastic, thought the net certainly doesn't add up to a wow factor :(
Don't go right after you ate all the chocolate and drank all the beer but definitely worth the wait and the climbing
Climb 300 or more stairs for a wonderful view of the city , complete with bells ringing that are hundreds of years old.
Great views and interesting to see the bells and other interesting things on the way up.
The view is beautiful! Must visit and go up the 366 stairs! Almost and hour waiting but it was worth it!
The views are amazing. The stairwell is very tiny, especially at the top. Large people, large footed people, or people with backpacks will have a very hard time.
Try to get to the top in time for the hour. You get to stand right by the bells as they ring.
Worth the climb but narrow staircase makes it slow going when passing people coming back down! Great views over Bruges.
Young people ticket is 10€. Come early cause line is moving in a painfully slow way (only like 4 people are let in every 10 min)!
Directly at the market place...definitely worth to see!
322 steps to the very top, totally worth it
Nice to hear the music . I am afraid of heights so I didn’t climb it, but it was lovely nonetheless.
Beautiful views from the top. Worth the fee and effort.
The stairs can leave you a bit giddy, but the view from the top is worth it!
Worth the epic stair climb for the view of the city from the top.
Brugge's leaning tower. Definitely worth the climb. "In Bruges" was filmed here.
Nice view from the top, even if it was during a rain storm. The stairwell accommodates people going up AND down so it can be a bit tight.
366 steps ,no lift. 8€ per adult ticket. Very nice view over the city , very windy
The climb is difficult, not only because number of steps but also its very narrow. You'll have to stop to let others pass. I won't do it twice!
Not a bad climb -- many stops to catch your breath. If you're afraid of heights, just go -- you can't "look down" at all, only straight out at distant buildings. €0.30 WC in the courtyard .
A must visit on clear days!
Great view on the city .
The view from the top is well worth the climb.
It's a steep climb on narrow stairs but worth the trek! I saw very young children and older seniors on the way up.
It's a long trek to the top - worth it, but the stairs gets treacherous the higher you go!
Great view on the city
Worth the climb! Don't wear a skirt that can blow in the wind.
If you remember the scene from the movie In Bruges when Ken throws himself from the Belfry.
One of the most impressive belfries in Belgium. You're 366 steps away from the top !
The view from the top is worth 1h queuing
It's a steep climb on narrow stairs but worth the trek! I saw very young children and older seniors on
Stairs, stairs and bells ????
Prepare for a lot of stairs :) the view is worth it though
Stairs worth the effort
Worth the climb!

You should try to go upstairs . The view, the bells and their mechanics is uniq - Oiq
If you decide to walk until the market you should take a walk here! It's a very scenic park, the trees, the houses make you feel like you're in a european movie! - Rosie K.
Nice place when the weather conditions allow to drink a beer and get some snack at the garden. Also some other happenings offered there (e.g. music concepts) - Tolis Georgas
It’s worth going in and it’s also free (they only ask for a voluntary donation). Supposedly they have a holy item inside that you can take a look at - Dan Mondragón Somera
Take a seat near the canal. We spent hours here with friends without even noticing. Beer with coconut is worth the shot! - Alican Yıldızalp
