Good, reasonably priced food and excellent (again, reasonably priced) accommodation. Road noise issues in bedrooms have been solved. Just beautiful! Completely refurbished and reopened in June 2015.

Excellent base from which to explore Highclere Castle of Downtown Abbey fame. Great real ales .

Friendly service and good food. A lot of road noise from the A34 in the bedrooms, so not exactly a rustic idyll.

Food excellent, service mediocre and surroundings a little ostentatious. Glad we came but would't rush back. Try the 2005 Dinastía Vivanci Reserva Rioja , most delicious.

Great food and atmosphere - real bargain on all set menus!!

Disorganised & slow service. People arriving after us got a table first. Drinks sat on the bar for 10mins. Staff walking around not carrying anything ie our drinks! On the plus side, food is good.

Road noise is LOUD . Bring earplugs.

Give a few months to let the paint smell settle.

Don't bother with this place. Rude snobby service. 6 tables were empty but they couldn't seat us!
