Treat this as someone's home and not a restaurant and just sit back and enjoy what you are about to experience.....and if your lucky one if your courses will be the lobster with smoke dish..
BYOB spot with an ever-changing 9-course menu. Now on Tock for easier reservations (they don't really do front of house around here), this joint might have the best tasting menu in Chicago.
Hidden gem , owner/chef does what he wants with reservations . Food was like out of a show...amazing! No menu, we had 7 tastings. BYOB . If you can get in it will be the best place you eat in town !
A totally fun experience! Inventive cuisine served by a fun waitstaff . It might be the only fine dining experience you have where you'll hear hardcore rap and heavy metal.
Dinner at Schwa is always a unique evening, but among the caviar truffles and uni ice cream , there are a few old school gems that really hit the spot. Read more

BYOB , quail egg ravioli , cocktail course
The only place where you can have a high end , fine dining experience while listening to hardcore rap . Schwa is an absolute must, do whatever you have to in order to go.
The most unlikely BYO in town . The kitchen team double as waiters and serve some stunners: ravioli with liquid quail egg yolk and buffalo, and sous vide antelope loin with antelope ragù . Read more
One of the top three meals I've had in the past two years!! This isn't your typical Michelin star restaurant ! Awesome food and chefs :)
Well worth the wait to get a reservation , reasonable prices for what you get. And BYOB !
BYOB . No menus, just surprises like pizza cotton candy w/ buttered popcorn soda , or tagliatelle and rabbit liver sauce. – Green Guide Editor
Schwa is a strange one, that's for sure. A nondescript restaurant with odd hours, service run entirely by kitchen staff , and BYOB—but some of the most amazing and inventive food you'll ever eat.
The most amazing, delicious, beautiful, interesting & mind-blowing dining experience I've had yet!
When the folks bringing your food are the same ones preparing it in the kitchen, you know there's some serious pride and accountability on the line when that plate is set down.
Loved the quail egg ravioli and the pizza cotton candy ! Witty commentary was appreciated too!
Olives and wagu beef and then the egg thing that melts
4) expect loud music to be playing5) make a reservation at a 2nd restaurant as your backup in case Schwa cancels on you6) bring good wine to go with your dinner
Why the hype for this restaurant , you may wonder? Because it is fucking awesome. And relatively affordable . If you get a reservation , they'll suggest wines for you to bring. Eat here... if you can.
BYOB , quail egg pasta , irreverent tasting menu
Insanely delicious and creative dishes!
Amazing byob pre fixe place that plays rap music
Crazy. So good. Top 5 Meals of my life

Quail Egg Raviolo
It's my secret...you'll just have to call and hope for the best....
This place is the shit. Period! Eat here Now!
Everything I had was delicious. Definitely get the fire-baked focaccia with ricotta-honey & truffle. Wild mushroom pizza was tasty as was the cavatelli bolognese. Etta-Rita is tasty too! Loved it all! - Dane Deasy
Get the baby squid and tripe braised in a spicy tomato sauce with a squid ink aioli! - Clifton
Incredible stuff. Nina is amazing. Service is impeccable. Food is phenomenal. Come with an open mind. - Matthew Weiner
Worth the wait. Unmatched cocktails served in an intimate atmosphere. Go during the week to avoid the long weekend lines. - Ross Garner
Oyster mushrooms plus garlic fried rice combo was excellent! Also like the Brussels sprouts. Great cocktails and customer service. Would go back! - April GI
