Jiko! What aromatic food and wines ...as well as African beer if that is your choice of drink. The scallops had a great kick of curry and other spices paired with a white wine .Pricey but worth it
Savannah views both day and night are awesome. Great variety of food at both Boma and Jiko. Delicious. A bit removed from the rest of WDW so it's a bit of a hike (bus ride) to anywhere - still great.
Select the Jambo House to stay as DVC member and you will be up on the 5th floor which allows greater views of Savannahs. Three to choose from: Sunset , Arusha , & Uzima.
Be sure to book a concierge level room. You get free drinks (including alcohol ), appetizers , desserts , snacks and so much more, all in a private lounge on the 6th floor overlooking the lobby.
Animal Kingdom Lodge is incredible and worth every penny! It has the largest display of African art in the world! Boma Restaurant is not your average "buffet ." The food is fresh and delicious.
Waking up to a giraffe outside your balcony grants an exotic , safari feeling that cannot be compared. Your resort is entertainment in itself and you can go on a safari from the comfort of your room.
Love love love the resort . Small issues were the high soap holder in the shower , you can bump your head if you don't realize its there, and knees and shins a bit bruised from the bed frames.
Very nice place, but don't expect much from the concierge staff - how can a 19 y/o who never used a real concierge do more than tell you where to find the lavatory?
AKL and The Grand Floridian have the best food options of any WDW resort . Jiko is a must.
Took the bus from Animal Kingdom to the lodge to eat at one of the restaurants ... There is a lookout over a safari area where you can see giraffes & zebras up close! Spectacular view !
We have really enjoyed our stay here! Would definitively come back! Everything is very close by from the room to the restaurants to the pool to the bus stop etc!
Spectacular Hotel , one of the best at WDW. Theming in the hotel is rich, restaurants are the best on Disney Property, and GIRAFFES!
Don't even think of coming without the meal plan. Looks expensive , but it's really a bargain.
This is a must.. get a room on the savannah, giraffes , zebra 's, and many other animals to see.. awesomeness!! Disney does not disappoint..
Great hotel . We reserved a standard room but asked for a partial view , and they gave us an awesome room over the savanna . The pool is great.
Rooms are very nice. Lobby is gorgeous!! The animals are amazing and are quite close - took some great pictures!!
A little far from most things with the exception of Animal Kingdom Park but really nicely decorated and designed. Really long walks await if you have a room at a far end though.
If you go to Disney, This is the only place to stay! amazing atmosphere! Beautiful grounds. Excellent restaurants .. The beds are squeaky (and not in the good way)
Zebras , ostriches, flamingos and more right outside your room. Well worth a night or two.
Nice hotel but a bit farther from the parks , except for the Animal Kingdom Park . Busses take 25+ min to arrive to pick you up at the hotel and at the parks .
Visit Victoria Falls Lounge and try out a glass of Pinotage. Hard to find, only grown in South Africa, and thankfully available in the 3 restaurants and the lounge at the Lodge !
Jiko has fabulous food. The Nigerian Prawns are amazing. Ron, our waiter , was so helpful in helping choose a wine to compliment dinner .
Nice villas and hotel theme over all. Boma is amazing. Jiko is top but only worth it when you are the dining plan. Worth the two points.
Best resort in Disney World.. Best location is the right side from entrance Arusha View . Close to the pool, water hole and bus stop .
Very nice place, but don't expect much from the concierge - 19 who can't do more than tell you where to find the lavatory?
Great hotel , but you could have a long walk to get to your room. Night Vision for kids was cool.
Check out the great South African wine selection at Victoria Falls Lounge overlooking Boma, then head outside to look at the animals on the savanna . - Kristen Heptinstall
Such a beautiful hotel with great customer service...make sure to get a room to see all the wild animals.
Eating at Sanaa gives you a great view of the animals on the savannah.
Get there after noon to see animals wander their grounds. Giraffes , Zebra , Wildebeest
The giraffe and tiny gazelles here are awesome. Where else can you see wildlife in Florida besides the zoo ?
Book a club level room for about $50-100 more and you can use the Kilimanjaro lounge which serves breakfast , afternoon tea , wine and snacks throughout the day! Well worth the money'
Don't buy your kids balloons because they won't let you that them back to your room. They are worried that the animals will eat the balloons. Woulda loved to known this before we spent $30 on balloons
Didja know if you have the Disney visa card, even if linked to your magic band, just show for a discount !
Ask about the culinary tour that takes place most afternoons. It is free & includes samples from the resorts restaurants Boma & Jiko.
Reservations to the fine dining restaurants like Jiko can only be made at least an hour in advance by hotel phone. It pays to walk in and ask in person if you're staying at Jambo House .
Do a hidden Mickey Hunt - the kids always love it! They sell a book on property and you can even make a game out of it. This is for all Disney property including parks
A great place to visit and eat even if you're not staying there.
Hotel great for kids. Rooms were a bit small but we'll appointed. Worth staying
For an awesome dining experience, go to Jiko for dinner and get the filet in wine sauce over gourmet white mac/cheese, delicious. Try an African beer too.
Great exposure to African nature! Sassy environment and classy surroundings !!
If you want something different to do, you can rent a bike to explore the beautiful surroundings.
Check out the mini-safari out back at Kidani Village !
I love everything about this lodge . I could live here!
Kidani Village 2nd floor savanna room provides excellent viewing from the your balcony of the animals - no animal smells! Jambo seemed to have more smaller children especially at the pool
Peter Dominick was the architect for this hotel as well as the Wilderness Lodge and the Grand Californian at Disneyland. A
The wifi at the lodge is week in certain areas. You have enough speed to stream Netflix or YouTube videos.
Get a babysitter! Check with the front desk but Kids Nite Out has a great service were they come to your room to watch the kids. Great service!
Animals can be viewed from night vision goggles at night!
