Obviously, parquet seating is best. Unfortunately, the theater (as beautiful as it is) is full of columns that will block your view ????
The Pennsylvania Ballet performs here. The theater itself is nostalgic and an intimate atmosphere .
Every year on the day after Labor Day, the 1857 five-ton chandelier drifts slowly down from 90 ft in the air to float above the audience’s seats. For the next 4 days, it is carefully cleaned .
Nothing quite like the Academy. Gorgeous inside. Much better than any of the other venues, such as the Forrest and Walnut Theatres . Everyone needs to see a show here at least once!
Orchestra seats are the best in the house, also try the center areas in the balcony and family circle .
A beautiful, historic building where you're sure to see amazing, world class entertainment.
Buy tickets at the Box Office and avoid the 20 dollar per ticket fee
Beautiful theater for plays and major events (e.g., graduations, dance recitals, etc.).
Wicked was spectacular and the theater is great! More ladies rooms are needed!
Fabulous shows and beautiful historic venue. Painful cramped seating.
Go to the ballet ! How magnificent to watch beautiful human bodies move gracefully across creative backdrops to music that reverberates the soul in a world class and historic theater !
Don't be afraid to change seats during intermission ... Ticket office folks are very friendly as well
Go around the block to Exlir Coffee for a double shot of espresso during intermission !
Perfect venue for Phantom . So much history.
The fifth Republican National convention , which unanimously nominated incumbent President Ulysses S. Grant, was held June 5–6, 1872 at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.
I enjoyed the HELLO DOLLY MUSICAL, it was very good and funny
Nice old theater , but the sound very good.
Went to see the nutcracker here. Sat on the side of the family circle . Seats were horrendous. We only saw the shadows of the performers . Stay away from these seats!
Want to get a closer look? They now offer free tours of the Academy. Ask the Kimmel center box office for more info

Needs a serious renovation. At least the seats.
Surgery?! In an opera?! How wonderfully decadent!

The obstructed-view seats aren't so bad if you need a last-minute ticket.
