Small portions but great quality. Sashimi dinner : 6 types of fish , 15 pieces with soup or salad , $28. Grilled banana with ice cream $6. Authentic look and feel.
Have been going here for years and the main thing is the consistency. Too many sushi restaurants may be great one visit and terrible the next. Here, you can rely on a consistently good experience.
The traditional option includes nine pieces of sushi and one roll for $60; special includes 12 pieces and one roll for $80. Lunch : three different omakase offerings are all less than $50.
Arrive before 6pm Mon-Thurs and do the prix-fixe. It feeds two and is an amazing deal! Service is outstanding, space decorated minimally. Get sake after din at Decibel, down the block!
Get the Afternoon Plate . Amazing food, very reasonably priced. I would say it's the best "teishoku" (定食) I've had outside of Japan.
The afternoon plate is fantastic, and consists of Miso , salad , sushi/sashimi, entrée and roasted tea .
Great sushi spot with impeccable service . Love the lunch specials they have and the age tofu is delicious.
Grilled banana with green tea ice cream is delicious. Very fresh sushi
Great sushi ! I got the sushi plate for two and it was actually a perfect portion.
Well prepared sushi , thoughtful ambiance. The white fish and shellfish pieces (Ishigaki snapper , red snapper , scallop ) are excellent.
Really great sushi for the price. Recommend lunch over dinner as it's a better deal for the same delicious food
Yes, the twilight special really is worth the $$ and various reviews. Looks who's eating at 5:30, hot stuff ????
The tempura is usually overlooked on the menu. The ginkgo nuts , broccoli and shiso leaf add a slightly heavier balance to the sublime lighter than air sushi here.
Food is yummy and plentiful. Great place to go with friends or somewhere to go on a date. Definitely going to come again
$20 special before 6:30 includes a great salad , miso soup , a ton of tempura , grilled fish , tuna roll + 1 each salmon/yellowtail/tuna sushi (or 3 each sashimi and rice ), and fresh fruit plate. HELLO.
They have great lunch specials and early bird dinner specials . All the food is always so fresh, worth the price.
One of the best in lower manhattan that is not super expensive . not cheap but most authentic and Japanese you can get around this block.
Rear garden is nice to dine during COVID times. Sushi however was very underwhelming-some of the sashimi was almost still frozen. We left after our first order and got more sushi to go at Tomoe ????
sushi adajo is perfect. staff super efficient. great sushi . not open Monday or Tuesday.
Try house saki Shirayuki, featured by the glass and bottle, hot. It's rich, with surprising mushroom notes.
I love this place so much! Best sushi I've ever tried and the service is great.
Sashimi lunch set , Uni sashimi and seaweed salad ! I will come back just for the wasabi they served!
The wasabi ! It is so fresh and perfectly matches with my sashimi ! I could not help bit ask for the brand they used ;)
Amazingly fresh and perfectly done sushi . No need to say more.
check today’s menu for chef’s selection of sashimi
The afternoon plate is quickly becoming my favorite lunch in the East Village .
Probably one of the best black cod in the city . Spicy tuna roll is pretty amazing as well .
Rumchata cocktail and cauliflower pancake ! Best value in nyc!
Always delicious. Come at 5:30 for the twilight special - such a good deal !
Three of the items we wanted were unavailable and the food in general did not match the price. Only ice cream was available for dessert . Sashimi didn't taste fresh either.
Just get the sushi . It's good. Really good.
Salmon sushi , yellowtail , fatty tuna
Order drinks while you wait! All of the food was excellent
The $20 special that everyone is talking about is called twilight dinner . And it's the jam . Choose sushi or sashimi and then the parade of food begins!
The freshly grated Wasabi is worth the extra $5.
Is good, waitress very nice , but the chef was no very nice... I was sitting in the sushi bar
Sushi Five is a must. beef negimaki appetizer is a welcome warm addition to meal. crazy awesome toilets with heaters/air dry.
Great sushi ! Great service!
Special afternoon is awesome! $20 for enough and good food!
Sushi for 2 - great deal and damn good
Best green tea ice cream that I ever tried in my life????????
You're on the fence. Go for the lunch special . It's delicious and much more filling than a la carte.
The grilled salmon was out of this world. I also slurped up the unagi sushi !
FYI: The Flower Garden Platter is lit and only available during lunch .
Yes, the prices are a bit high, but the quality is great! I still dream about those toro and salmon sashimi .
Best sushi in NYC, starting with the salad dressing !
The ridiculously delicious salad dressing is bottled and for sale.
Best seaweed salad ever, cant seem to find it anywhere and amazing sushi !!
Terrific handrolls! Definitely don't overlook the lobster and toro (tuna) ones. Yumyumyumyum. - Kate Shaw
Great underground sake bar. The wasabi dumplings are spicy but delicious. - Sam C
The perfect, simple cone. I alternate between cookie dough and strawberry, on a waffle cone. - Ruby Anaya
