It's hard to find mofongo in Chicago, so it's good La Plena makes a pretty good one! The rest of the Puerto Rican food is great as well .
Ask for the veggie jibarito. It's loaded with avocado , peppers , cheese and tomatoes and is heaven between two plantains .

Owner was vile n disgusting. We stopped in to buy frituras. He told me he only sold plates. While I spoke with him one person in our party used the bathroom . He lost his mind n cursed us out.
