Nice area to bring the grill and spend the day fishing and swimming .
I would suggest hanging out on the other side of the road near the old 95ynf radio station . At least you're not looking at Duke Energy's Weedon Island building.
If you plan on staying overnight, trust your instincts and be prepared to leave in a hurry. Some sketchy people lurking at night.

Not the most attractive beach . Not much to recommend.
Not a fan, save you time and go elsewhere. Dirty sand, not a place for children.
