Old, pretty and a little weird... Meaning this place is awesome. $5 to see all three movies in a night, ok beer on tap , and you can bring in outside food.
If you are a short person like me, head upstairs for a seat and a better view . If there isn't a show, check out Brew and View . Cheap beer , cheaper movies , and one of the cheapest date ideas around.
Double or Triple features for $5. Can't beat the movie price. I just wish they had better beer prices. 6 or 7 bucks is too much for an old movie house that rarely gets crowded .
Alternately a music venue and a movie theater , this celebrated locale is the perfect place to catch touring artists or enjoy a few beers during rowdy screenings of second-run and classic movies . Read more
I've been to some amazing concerts here. It's nice that there's a ton of seating on the balcony , though it means the fairly small floor can be horribly over-packed. Practically next to the L.
Ok, so Brew & View / Vic Theatre is not yet a Central Lakeview Merchants member.....but 3 movies for $5 and 2 fully-stocked bars = Big Fun!!
Rock + Brew - great for you Cheap dates out there. Two movies and drinks for under $10 (I think). Also great indie shows.
Hang by the lighting booth . Perfect sight lines , room to move, near the bar and near the sound guy for best results.
Come for the Brew and View ! You can't beat $5 for a double or triple feature !
Great venue for a concert or comedy show
No matter how crowded it gets, there's always a pocket of space near the ramps that lead down onto the front-of-stage floor. Try it, you'll like it!
Hey The Vic Theatre, you should join Freebie! It’s pretty rad and the benefits are great for both you and me. Check it out! <aclass="entity url"rel="nofollow" href="http://taps.io/freebie"target="_blank" data-sig="vNFDijdwyL9vuT7YLPmRaYD5LGU=" onmousedown="fourSq.ui.OutgoingLink.mousedown($(this), event)" data-source="tip-text">http://taps.io/freebie</a>
The upstairs seating may seem out of the way, buy every seat has an unobstructed view
Love going to concerts here. You can walk up to the front, place your beer on the stage and dance the night away.
One of the best venues in town - you either get great shows or the brew and view ! Yay!
Awesome theater. Managed by assholes.
Don't bother driving to concerts here because a CTA line is literally a block away! You in for an awesome concert , so get your ears ready!
Great little concert venue .
Buy tickets at the physical box office here (hours online) and avoid ticket fees
Scabs. Management here is horrendous. Support clubs that treat their workers better like Empty Bottle, Thalia Hall, Lincoln Hall etc
Beautiful venue but the staff isn't very organized when it comes to concerts
Big stage with plenty of space in GA space
This is also where you can obtain a ticket for an event at the Aragon without paying a 'convenience' surcharge. →Cash only !←
Save some time and bring cash for the bars .
Best mid-sized venue in the city .
Wait by the alley for an hour or two & you will be able to meet, take pictures w/ & get autographs from the performers you just saw.
Box office ladies rule. So do the bartenders and cocktail waitresses . Working hard for the money!!
Whether its seeing a concert , or enjoyin the Brew & View , The Vic is my favorite theater in Chi-town.
Pre Phantogram crowd!
This place RULES. 2nd home to Steinberg
This place is friendly to everyone except emo slackers who don't have their shit together and, well , FUCK them!! Ya know??
@chrisdelia
Total hotties live here. One makes kraut . Yum!
Decent sound and awful bathrooms . Staff are good, but it'd be nice if the place was better maintained.
Tip for bands: please skip this venue.
Passion Pit
Concerts and open bar
Went to see Ralphie May on Friday night at the Vic, great show!
Shitty place to see metal. Sounds like mud, even with bass filtering earplugs
Jeff Tweedy
Saw "Five for Fighting" last night at the The Vic. Great venue. Watch out, they give you bottle water with no cap! (silly)
seen a million concerts here. loved the saw doctors last week!
Here for Allen Stone.
Terrible acoustics , but neat neighborhood venue.
Drink and view everything!
Some of the bars accept credit cards, but they place a $100 hold on your account, so watch out if you're lowish on funds.
Tiny bathrooms . Ladies, be prepared to wait.
Guaranteed good time!
This venue is NOT street teamer friendly . We had to hang up posters for a band and they kept changing their minds about it. Fuck this place.
Again, this place is a joke. Tried to call them all day to ask a question and they didn't answer the phone til 5:30. The guy was horribly rude on the phone.
I love the grainy quality of the films here, and the way the screen is a bit too small for the film. Beer & popcorn is an added bonus, of course! :) - jennifer dagley
Might be small, but this place is great. Live music and the people are amazing. Decent prices, too. - Kooter
So many phenomenal underground artists play here. The size is perfect for a concert, especially for a date night. Great drinks too! - Dulce A.
The arrangement or seating is great. The sound is amazing... And their craft beer on Nitro was perfect - Kyle McFarland
Everything here is delicious. Always happy hour with great craft beers on tap. Love the cheese curds. - John Hankus
Their pork chops are amazing. Very chique and great place to relax and watch a game. 4 HUGE tvs. - Tiffany Vanick
Ask to see the beer school beer menu too. So many good, different options! - Kerry K
