One of the best madhouses I've ever seen. The atmosphere is great, thanks to the attraction being inside the castle .

I'm a vertigo sufferer & knowing a bit about this ride I thought I'd be ok with it, but I can tell you that you *do* move & for me this was a white knuckle ride - even with my eyes closed! :o

It IS worth watching the TV documentary if you've never done the ride before as it really builds the atmosphere. Anticipation is the key to enjoying this experience to its fullest

Much maligned "ride" - still worth queuing in my opinion for the headpecker inside. Keep your eyes open for the full hit

The ride is based on the real chained oak which is still in what was once part of the Alton Towers estate. The chains are still there.

Don't be disheartened by the crap tip regarding the story, it is fantastic, and adds greatly to the ride!

Go on the right in the final room. Trust me it's a better experience

If they have live actors working, like they do around halloween , it is a million times better.
