Loo's Hainanese Curry Rice

Very popular curry rice . Long queue even in the mornings. Don’t miss the pork chop , lor bak , and sambal squid . It’s a wonder what a little bit of curry sauce can do to the rice .

1998 article in The Sunday Times. It is ironic that this coconut laden curry rice does not originate from China’s Hainan island , but has its roots beginning in Singapore.

Simple pricing. $2 for meat servings, $1 for vege or egg , 50-cents for rice . The plate on the left (1 meat) $4.50, the right (2 meats) $5.50

The pork chop is fried with soda biscuit batter and SO GOOD. Stewed pork (I cannot FUCKKNG BELIEVE THIS) melts in your mouth with the fats!! Curry is sweet and savoury and creamy!

Curry gravy , steamed meat balls , lor bak & chap chye were good. Not a fan of their sweet & sour pork chop though, still prefer the deep fried super crispy version like the one at Blk 40 Beo Crescent .

Best curry rice ever. Try the pork chop , spring, black bean fried fish (if available) and chap chye .

I am not impressed with the curry rice and pork chop , despite it being featured on TV and many websites. It is expensive too, with mine at $5.20. Hai Lam Curry Rice at Beo Crescent is way better.

Their curry chicken is only ready 10ish so if you’re here early, you’re going to miss it. Their curry veg is the alternative... same same but different though.

Try the curry prawns and the pork chops . On 2nd thoughts, just try everything! New location is nicer. :)
