BB is fantastic because not only do they sell new & used, but they also have a great selection of gifts , plus a lecture series! :) As far as Boston area bookstores go, this is hands down my favorite.

Staff super friendly . Selection incomparable. They'll order you a book if you don't see it. trade in paperbacks for credit. search for bargains in the used basement . superb author readings.

The only bookstore comparable to Strand in NYC. Good selection and their bargain tables are worth fishing at. Visit downstairs for the used books . You'll leave with more than you expected.

Downstairs is lower priced as they're used and have loads of great books . I rarely see people in it. It's a hard left from the front door.

The staff downplays lines for readings and signings...if the line forms at 6:00pm and doors open at 6:30, plan to get in line by 5:30pm or you will be disappointed.
