Perfect spot for vegetarians . LOVE their lotus chips with a side of the curry aoli . Great with allergies. Also, if you're local, they may give you a neighborhood discount .

Anissa

Easy to grab a table for 6 on Sunday night! Great spot to try a lot of different Burmese dishes and relax with a picture of drinks! Pictured: khao soi, lamb curry , duck fried rice , miso cod noodles

Robert Williams

B★Star Cafe is the best Asian restaurant in the town .Food is amazing there. This is also the perfect place for the vegetarians. If you go there then don't forget to have Tea leaf salad with your meal!

Alex Priest

I could eat here literally every single day of the week. Tea leaf salad , miso cod , duck skin fried rice are winners. Paul at the bar is the man. Beats the hell out of waiting at Burma Superstar.

Megan Allison

Stuffed platha, Kau Soi and duck fried rice = great drinking food. Surprisingly chill about big group dinners . Takes reservations . Laugh at the Burma SuperStar line as you pass by.

Erin Rea

Perfect meal for 2: Samusa soup , tea leaf or rainbow salad , and vegetarian noodles . Bonus points for a pitcher of Burma Cooler and/or sitting on the back patio .

Tasting Table

We love B-Star's jook for a comforting, flavor-filled brunch . Toppings range from preserved egg and shredded pork to mushrooms and a runny poached egg . Read more

Annie Chang

This spot is more contemporary than its sister Burma Superstar. The tea leaf salad & catfish chowder from superstar are also here. But what's not to miss are the ochazuke and brussel sprouts .

Vanessa H

Wow, this place is amazing. Brussels sprouts (OMG!), tea leaf salad (obvi), lamb curry was so tender and had wonderful flavors, and the cod and egg noodles (can't remember the name) are all delicious!

jocelyn L.

everyone will tell you tea leaf salad ; and don't get me wrong, it's good. but try the pumpkin pork stew and lotus chips - yummy. and $12 for 2 dishes: On the Go Lunch - DON"T miss it!

Joseph Balancio

Asked the server for recs and everything was excellent: b sprouts, fried tofu , tea leaf salad , and miso cod noodles . B cooler for drinks. Friendly service . Happy hour 5-7 m-f

Simon Willison

Miso cod noodles are spectacular, and very generous with the cod (especially if you are used to miso cod at Japanese restaurants )

Linda Yang

Same owners as Burma Superstar. Less of a wait, equally delicious Burmese food. Brunch/lunch menu!

Ashley Rose

Tea Leaf Salad is talked about for good reason- a light lunch with no shortage of flavor.

jonathan gettinger

Think stuffed Azuki almond banana French toast with Japanese red beans and mascarpone , a salmon benedict with tobiko and Hollandaise , or the ever-comforting Chinese rice porridge , Jook.

Elif

Everything is perfect! You should definitely try the vegeterian samusa soup , yellow bean tofu and ice thai.

David Rosenberg

The Miso Cod on Egg Noodles is the best thing $18 can buy you in the world. Just do it.

Shraddha Nunziata

Everything I ate was amazing: the platha, Brussels sprouts , corn , and the salmon pot pie . Mango mojito was killer as well . Eat everything!!!!

Kian Lavi

The jook was fabulous and the tea leaf salad is to die for. Miso cod also melted in my mouth.

Haley Martin

The homemade mango soda is delicious, and the chicken curry is very good as well !

Yasmin

Really can't go wrong with this place. If you're not one for the long wait at Burma Superstar, B Star will totally hit the spot. I've never waited for more than 15 minutes.

Connie Chiu

Tried the kau soi, which is more saucy than soup curry . I was hoping it’d be soup noodles . The chicken pieces are tiny but it’s overall pretty good. The tea salad is okay, not amazing.

Ryan W

Tea leaf salad was surprisingly good. Great flavors and textures, best salad I've had in a long time.

Adam

better alternative to burma superstar. same owners, just not as hyped so easier to get in to. the famous tea leaf salad is here too. i <3 the burmese chx salad .

squeasel

Interesting and tasty variety of food. Good choice if you're, for some reason, out with someone still afraid of Burmese food.

randy kim

Wow, one of the best meals I had in SF. I ordered the cod and the brussel sprouts . B* gets an A+ from me.

Lan

Share the cinnamon sugar platha at brunch ! Crispy chewy deliciousness.

Anton Shuster

Nicer, more casual feel than Burma Superstar. Samusa soup is better at Burma Superstar or Burma Love. Menu is more limited.

Jole P

Spring roll appetizer is delicious! Same with the jook and tea leaf salad of course

Charm B. Trippin

If you get redirected here from Burma Superstar, just wait for a table at there. The servers & chef don't really care about you.

Max Blue ????????

Order everything(!!) and share it. And be sure to order a tea leaf salad . Amazing food.

Gabriel Puliatti

Be warned, brunch menu had lots of American food . Make sure to go to the main one during the day unless you really mean to.

Anna James

Pork belly with white beans is an absolute yum. Loved it!

Dana Fraser

Getting the medium somasa soup and splitting an entire was perfect and a great way to lessen the blow on the bill.

Sabrina Gabel

My favorite restaurant . Love the tea leaf salad and lamb curry and black sesame dessert .

vane ⭐️

Go for the papaya salad and the Peking duck fried rice .

Arjun Sundararajan

Tea Leaf salad , Sambusa soup , Platha with dip . Don't miss on these.

Nick Douglas

The coconut rice is sticky and tasty, much more than mere filler.

Ivan Resnikoff

Best brunch ! Tea leaf salad a must with any meal.

Fran Su

Happy hour 5-7pm. Platha with yellow curry !

Lauren Cantor

Almanac peach brettaville beer , tea salad , Brussels sprouts were unreal, paratha , and curry was ok but not recommended. Get the tofu basil instead

Kevin Smokler

Brunch menu on weekends is not Burmese. So if you're there on weekends looking for yellow bean tofu , tough luck.

Angelina Wan

The ox tail falls off the bone & the tea leaf salad is so flavorful

Sarah Dunn

Food is excellent! Service is a bit spotty and the hostess is rude. They wouldn't let us have a drink at the bar while waiting for our table and we were moved while they wanted to clean our section.

Anthony Maggio

Tocino for brunch ! Fried rice topped with fried eggs and surrounded by bacon

Alisa Sharp

The yellow bean tofu , shishito peppers and pork belly tacos are amazing..did I mention Chimay on tap ?

Joe Murphy Librarian

Substitute the ciabatta w/ paratha bread for a Burmese take on Banh Mi to die for

Allison Yu

Didn't love the fusion brunch interpretation - go for a classic longganisa with rice dish instead!

Daniel Bogan

Get the Tea Leaf Salad . Of course.

Geoff Reinhardt

Great option if Burma Superstar is busy. The brussel sprouts are insane.
