Nothing beats staying in on snowy day & delivery of our faves: Anardana Ckn (Pomegranate Grilled Ckn), Dum Ki Gobhi Aloo (Cauliflower+potato), Palak Paneer (Spinach Paneer ), Butter Ckn & Garlic Naan .
The updated Mughlai dishes here still bring plenty of heat to the table! Stockpile napkins and dig in to the tandoori chicken and lamb kebabs . The lunch buffet is also a neighborhood deal at $11.95
New. Family Recipes . On the menu try the “Kaali Daal”(prepared slowly on low heat and blended with butter or cream) and what about the butter chicken and their tandoori chicken from clay oven Read more
I’m not a big fan of indian food but this was exceptional. Such a great place when it comes to food & service. Highly recommended! Chicken butter was really good.
Its probably the best indian restaurant in the upper east side. Dishes are very rich and if you go for the brunch deal you will eat an enormous amount of food!
The best Indian in the city . Great food great service. Murg makhani was so so so good!!
Great deal of veggie options , just enough spices and reasonable prices. We shared the mushrooms kebab and I got the Palak Paneer : very good although portions end up to be bit too much for me
MMD was 1 of my top go-to Indian restaurants ..but now-sadly-no more! Recently, I’ve noticed food quality & taste have been slipping, a “C” health-rating, pricier menu ≠ smaller (delivery ) portions!
Excellent Indian food . Would recommend the lamb curry , butter chicken and paneer kadhai. Dal makhni is delicious!
1 of my fave Indian lunch buffets-choice of vegetarian or meat-which has pretty much the same veggie options + 1 meat app + 1 meat entrée (no lamb for me)! ;9
NYT ** (2012): "Pakoras , murgh tandoori/makhani, burrah kebab , malai kofta , dum ke phool, baingan Patiala, bhindi jaitpuri, paneer makhani, mkebabkeen curry , crab lehsuni, signature masala ."
Best indian food in Nyc! Their kadhai chicken , paneer butter masala and daal makhani are on my favourite list.
Phenomenal food: paneer tikka , dahi palak , murgh tandoori , burrah kebab (best thing on the menu), murgh and dal makhani - and, of course, gulab jamun
We had a wonderful night at this place. I have to say that we loved the smoke taste on the KHUMB KEBAB . The MEEN CURRY was outstanding!
My fav is Fish Tikka but everything on the menu is so good. But beware that food quality of takeaway is not as good as dining in.
Highly recommend the all you can eat brunch , delicious and very good quality . The service is impeccable.
Best Butter Chicken ever - nice mix of sweet/savory/spice. The biryani was also very well spiced with incredibly tender chicken . Pass on the Pani Puri though - all looks.
It can easily beat the "T" and "J" places. Real chicken tandoori without coloring. Their phirni (crushed rice pudding ) is a must try. We also had the chicken with yogurt/cashewnut gravy- crazy good
If you're looking for North Indian food and a fancy setting (especially if you're not Indian), this is the place. Best Indian restaurant in town hands down.
Had such a great meal here the other night. Decided to move on from chicken tikka and went with a lamb dish . It was delicious!
Strongly suggest getting one each of the vegetarian and meat lunch specials if you go with someone else - vegetarian appetizers are especially delicious!
The best Indian food in US I have eaten! Dal Makhani compares to the best of Old Delhi. Paneer Lababdar is delicious and so is Khasta Roll. Do talk with Chef Kishore. He is as warm a host as they come
Wow. Very easily some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Get the butter chicken , chana masala , lemon rice , and plenty of samosas .
One of the better Indian restaurants in Manhattan, though the location is a bit out of the way.
Butter chicken . Daal Makhani . This place is really butter central. Bonus: lamb in spinach is shockingly awesome. A must go.
order: butter chicken , naan , Bhuttey Ke Kebab , Khumb Kebab , Shrimp Signature Masala , tandoori chicken , rice , mint yogurt dip
My favorite Indian restaurant in the city .
Really good Roomali Khasta and Daal Makhani . Khadhi Murgh could've been better. Solid wine pours.
Amazing Paneer dishes. Also the Daal Makhni is out of this world! The butter naan was very well made!
Lunch is a pretty good. They have two options to choose from, veg and non veg . It's a three course meal with a lot of food.
The lamb kebabs are exceptional, as is the thickly seasoned tandoori chicken . Veggies can head to a steaming lunch buffet with vegetarian options as well !
Awesome Butter Chicken ! One of the best I had outside of India
An international chain specializing in Mughlai, an exceptionally rich and varied branch of Indian cooking . Very vegetarian-friendly.
There isn’t enough Indian-brewed beer to help you pronounce the murgh makhani (fork-tender chicken in a silky tomato sauce ) at Moti Mahal Delux, but try your best and you’ll be rewarded.
Excellent food!! The Butter Chicken and Daal Makhani were very authentic & awesome. Also try out the Roomali Khasta , a very eclectic appetizer !
The real butter chicken , kaali daal and some funky delicious stuff like gol grappa shots, roomali khasta dips & scallops w/ mango chutney . YUM!
Golgoppa shots are a unique experience. They can't be split - you have 4 whole mouth bites, so make sure you are ready for that.
staff was super nice to us and our 14-month old son. brought him a mango lassi and a bunch of baby-friendly things to eat; we were pleasantly surprised when they weren't on our bill.
Real Indian food . Try lamb masala and biryani . So good,, and do not forget golabjamdoon.
You're in for a treat with the lunch special . $14 to eat like a king. 2 apps, 1 entree, 1 dessert . Refills. Can't go wrong.
Veg dishes taste the same everywhere but not here. Go for Paneer Lababdar - amazingly unique and great taste!
The Butter Chicken is not only probably the best in NYC, it is possibly the best on the planet.
Diwali is around the corner! Come by between Nov 4- Nov 18 and check out our special Diwali menu during dinner (prix-fix with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options).
On Sundays a very reasonable and tasty brunch "seated buffet " awaits anyone who can handle the surliness here.
Flavorful, authentic Indian with authentic dishes . Complex flavored vs. the norm where everything tastes the same
The place is among the best places for Indian Food around, has good interior design , excellant service and delicious food!
Great food, excellent waiter ! He offered us a little desser, so nice. I definitively recommend this place
Really good Indian. The MMD Masala is really good. Fairly cheap as well .
So so delicious and filling! Come with an empty stomach and you won't be disappointed. Will be back again soon :)
The Tandoori chicken here is worth the trip. I haven't come across a better rendition anywhere.
Amazing 'Aunt Murli's Fish Moile'- delicate fish stew with coco milk, curry leaves, and. Cumin seeds do the trick! #AgainAgain - Lisa Z
Seafood lovers try the neer dosa which is dosa with mango chutney and a sea food mix - fish, mussels, scallops, shrimp and squid. They apparently have a fish thali for lunch from Monday to Friday. - Rashmi Joishi
TVs playing sports, ping pong tables, a popcorn popping machine, and solid casual food: hamburger, zucchini fries, sausage sampler and tacos all good. - Lisa F
Love the chicken club lunch special! Also amazing friendly staff and great music. - M.A.
Awesome new beer spot on the UES with great selections on tap. However, a little pricey. - Jessica Elias
