Saint Louis Art Museum

With so many museums at Forest Park , be sure not to miss the St. Louis Art Museum . This favorite covers much more than just art . It’s a truly visual world tour , uniting eras, cultures and continents.

Free, amazing and even the building itself is a piece of art . Takes 3h at least to see it all if you don’t go to the sleazily exhibits (that you pay for it). It is a must!

It is free! The museum has a specialty exhibit every few months and has multiple levels of different types of art . Art Hill right out the front door is perfect for an afternoon picnic !

The St. Louis Art Museum is an amazing collection of art , both old and new. While the newly-renovated modern wing is lovely, I prefer the baroque classics like St. Francis Contemplating a Skull.

SLAM is a great museum . No, it's not the best, or has an exhaustive collection, but it's stunningly beautiful, easy to navigate, and has a handful of great pieces: go to American painting .

Annual membership is relatively affordable and comes with many benefits including discounts on restaurants , cafe , gift shop , and parking ! Beautiful building located in stunning Forest Park ????

Great collection of history and art . Exhibit of Time Spy by Sun Xun is one of the coolest displays there, would highly recommend!

Love visiting the art museum . After the visit, you can enjoy watching the paddle boats in front of the museum ...the lake there is perhaps the best view of forest park .

Making reservations in advance for a nice table in the dining room before your visit is a smart thing to do, especially on weekends. Excellent service and the food us very good.

The Nick Cave exhibit is phenomenal and somehow more than makes up for the rest of the modern exhibit .

The Monet exhibit was great, and I really enjoyed the Max Beckmann room. SLAM apparently has the largest Beckmann collection in the world. I will go see it again. Read more

Special exhibits are amazing. True gem of St. Louis. From abstract, to Victorian, to African, to mummies...

Just like the zoo that is a short walk away, FREE ENTRY. Great place to go on a free weekend.

Our neighbor in the park , see European art from the 16th and 17th centuries made during the lifetime of William Shakespeare

Entry is free, with paid admission to optional exhibits . I'm always impressed, and don't visit enough.

The collection pales in comparison to the Art Institute in Chicago, but SLAM is still worth a walkthrough.

Plan for a whole day to see everything. Two places to eat, both pricey . Cool museum .

First Friday events can usually be found on Facebook and are always free and interesting.

Surprising American gem! Great selection, wonderful park . Check out the new wing.

My best advice is to hide in the restroom until closed and everyone goes home. The mummies and exhibits come to life!

Can't wait until the new part is open! Get a map because everything has been moved around with the renovations going on.
