You wouldn't go wrong with lobster soup ! Try also one of the fish kebabs , from char, salmon to cod , oh and everything is fresh here! The potato salad is also a perfect side dish to the meal.
It lives up to the food blogger hype. This is definitely a place you want to hit up while visiting here. The soup is really good, but don't miss the kebabs and, for the adventurous, minke whale
Amazing lobster soup and fish skewers in Reykjavík! We had cod , but you can choose between 10 different types of fish and other seafood . Nice spot at the haven! You can sit inside and outside.
I can’t stop thinking about the lobster soup . Delicious, comforting, and full of flavor. The bread is also incredible! Order up a bowl, grab a Gull beer , & enjoy this quaint authentic seafood shack.
Delicious fresh seafood skewers with good flavor (though I recommend getting some of the sauces for the extra 100KR). If you get the potato one, definitely get the creamy garlic sauce !
Had a very tasty Icelandic sampler platter of mashed fish , smoked trout , fermented shark, smoked lamb , and dried fish . Delicious, and had a schnapps of birsk to complement it!
Food was good, area is lovely (in the port ). It is by far the least touristic restaurant in the area. Great lobster soup . U can choose the sea food your want to be grilled. Quite interesting options
I know there's already 132 tips saying it but, in case you missed it: try the lobster soup . Also, there are to extra rooms to the back and upstairs with proper tables and chairs. Read more
Order your fish RAW! They will ask you several times if this is what you want. And then bring you the freshest caught of Arctic Char awesomeness. You will end up with a huge plate of sushimi!
Nice food and the guys there very friendly ;) take a lobster soup !! The must !
This is the place to go for Lobster Soup . They also have whale meat sampler if you're a bit adventurous but still save room for the soup and grill fish
Delicious lobster soup and fresh fish skewers . Salmon is delicious! Be prepared to wait 30 min to get your food. Tiny place with small seating area. Not good for big groups.
Lobster is Icelandic for langoustine so its really a langoustine bisque soup . Still very good. Be ready to ask for more bread . And try the fresh fish on sticks
Staff is very friendly but service is very slow. Delicious grilled seafood , very fresh. The lobster soup is a must try.
Lobster soup ! Go for lunch and dont mind the long line . Yhe service is fast and definately worth it!
The history of this place is really cool and you can try such local delicacies as pickled shark and whale steaks . ...if you're brave.
Lobster soup is a must get here. Cod skewer was a little dry. Love that they have other skewer options though. Cozy space .
Try the lobster soup - perfect for a cold day. They served it nice and warm with freshly baked bread , too.
Came here because of its fame but it was not "the best lobster soup in the world", sadly. Soup was thin and tasted mostly of fish and vegetables . We had a better lobster soup in Höfn, Iceland .
Get some salty lobster soup and enjoy the cute , old-timey atmosphere.
Lobster Soup is delicious and also the Cod/Bacalao. It was listed as a caption in New York Times. It is a temporary wooden shack in nice atmosphere of the Reykjavik Harbour .
Scallops are delicious! Share the minke whale if just tasting. Reasonably priced seafood and helpful staff . Order first, then pull up a seat!
Lobster soup is definitely worth the wait. Bread was delicious, too. I don't think it's a place that would work for large groups, but then what European restaurant does?
Lobster soup ! Not too creamy and lobster is perfectly poached.
Authentic and super fresh fish skewers ! Also, the place is much bigger than what it seems in the photos.
Lobster bisque is a must. Their fish skewers are tasty and tender. If you're feeling adventurous, try the whale steak ... It's gamey.
lobster soup is bomb - huge chunks of buttery soft lobster ; lobster soup & scallop skewer combo for 2500kr
This tiny, hole-in-the-wall seafood place serves thick lobster soup with huge chunks of lobster and nice creamy broth.
Extremely affordable fish meals of up to 10 different varieties. Preparation is pretty standard and there are many sides, but it's a great choice!
This place is a must! The lobster soup is delicious and the place really gives you the feeling that you can't get more authentic ;-)
We recommend the grilled scallops and shrimps on a stick. I could eat that everyday!
Amazingly rich lobster soup , worth the value. Personally wouldn't recommend the skewers , my cod ones was too dry and bland, it's a bit charred too.
Lobster soup , wolffish and shrimps are amazing. The prices are lower than usual in Iceland .
Good lobster soup , have a go at the trout on the right and whale meat on the left.
Soup was thin and tasted like celery . Actual pieces of lobster were nice (but few). I had much better lobster soup from a food truck in skaftafell. Basic fish at reasonable prices, a bit overhyped.
Fresh & High Quality Street Food in a small and cosy place . Excellent Lobster Soup . Authentic !
Good lobster soup , fish on the stick is very fresh. Make sure to get a reservation if you have a large party, also service can be pretty slow
The fishsoup at the neighbour on the opposite of the street is better than the lobster soup here! Try it. Reykjavik fish restaurant .
The lobster soup was incredible! Don't forget to sign the guest book !
Lobster soup . Grilled char. Enjoy. And read about the history of this place.
Excellent fresh fish on the docks, cozy and unassuming. The lobster soup , really.
White fish , shrimp and scallop kebabs are all delicious. Lobster soup is a must! Very reasonably priced.
The lobster soup is world class good and the minke whale (as well as horse and fish ) served on sticks is just over the top — and illegal in many countries . Cosy, quaint ... and plastic cutlery only.
Only Japanese can beat them, either taste or pricez, and girls there is no rival against them in the whole world.
Fresh seafood , great staff , cozy atmosphere
The lobster soup is a must! It truly is outstanding.
Lobster soup is amazing! Mink whale is good, shrimps are delicious. Bur we had to wait for 2hours to eat!!
Awesome food +you get free water and coffee .
The blue ling is the best fish I've ever had!
The lobster soup is as good as everyone says it is. Big chunks of lobster inside, delicious!
The sushi is tasteful, do try the warm chocolate cake with Caramel, strawberries and condensed ice cream. On all, great service. - Sanya Khanna
Amazing food! Great combination of flavors and beautiful presentation! Ireland beer was our favorite! - Mari Pavli
Very satisfying meal, a bit rich with quite a few ingredients, all fresh and well assembled. The Icelandic specialty of minke whale, shark and puffin appetizer is not to be missed. - S P
Amazing building inside and out. Interesting shops and cafe areas. Worth even just a wander through to get a look at the incredible structure from the inside! - Justin
The hype is real: those hot dogs are really good and worth the wait, even on cold days! - Julie L
