If you've got kids then this is a 'must do'. The zoo is massive, animals have quite lot of room & there's loads for the whole family to see & do. A bit outside the city , but has a train stop close by.
We came here on a week day to avoid crowds. Come early! Also, if you want to buy any hats or fans before you reach the park , ask and bargain! I bargained down the price at the last street vendor.
small but pretty relaxing. walk to the north and you can take the cable to Maokong mountain from there. but later you can not get inside the zoo again, hence, dont leave any stuff in the zoo lockers.
I'm not a big fan of zoo since animal conditions aren't good. But Taipei Zoo keep the animals in decent spaces, trying to recreate the natural habitat. It's huge, so keep hydrated to walk around.
It was an amazing exp.to see a panda and koala .Huge area to walk and to see whole animals around the world.Good shuttle service.Continental zones are perfect idea.Don forget to try cable car .
the place is huge. upkeep of the zoo and its animals are a bit on the sad side. if you are planning on taking the Maokong Gondola, take it from inside the Zoo - saves you some money.
Definitely worth going and it's cheap , get discounted price with youth card. Really informative, clean and well maintained. A huge variety of animals available too. Don't miss the pandas !
Huge zoo , bring your walking shoes . Rainforest exhibit is INCREDIBLE. Take the gondola to the top, then walk down through the park . Otherwise you are climbing a mountain .
If time is limited, I recommend to go to the Zoo first and to take the cable car from the Zoo station to get to Maokong . There is a shuttle from the zoo to the cable car station
The zoo is quite big. There are many different kinds of animals including the cute pandas . If you visit there in summer, don't forget to wear a hat and put on the sun block.
Note that the Gondola is closed during Mondays for regular maintenance. Entrance is charged with NTD 60 fee for adults. There is a dedicated train station making it reachable from the city .
Awesome zoo ! only NT 60 and its really huge. Lots of pandas , koalas, penguins and african animals. highly recommended.
Come early on a weekday to avoid crowds. For out of towners: the Panda and Koala houses were the most exciting! Can use your taipei pass to skip the ticket line .
Food options at top of hill : (1) Up by entrance to Brown Bears (next to penguins ) is a Hi-Life convenience store . (2) down the hill from Bird World tram stop past elephants is food court .
Plan to spend half a day or more here; most people underestimate the variety of the animal residents and the vastness of Taipei Zoo !
The pandas are very popular and you usually get only ten minutes for them. Come in the late afternoon on a rainy day and you get much more time.
Big, the education center is nice and a must visit. The number of animals is not much and quite number of spots not maintening well .
Huge zoo with lots of animals. You have a time slot to see pandas . Basically queuing in a line to walk past the pandas . Only saw them for a brief moment. Take train up then walk back down, only 5twd.
Everything from the zoo layout to the food. Especially loved the snack at Sahara section.
Allocate more time to visit the zoo , there's so much to see! And it only costs you TWD60!
Directly inside entrance, on right is 7-11 and stroller rental for 50NT and McDonald's on left. Only ones in park .
It's the zoo what I've expected ! A lot of animals and the entry fee is so cheap ! Unlike the one in my country ._.
You will need to spend at least 5 hours walking around to finish the whole Zoo even if you are taking the train up. Leg sore !
It was again an exhausting walk like all the other places in Taipei. Too hot to walk but good to have seen the exotic animals even a pangoline
There's so much to do here!!!! Love love it!
Very cheap entry fees. More animal to see.
Small zoo but plenty animals to see. MWF the female lion comes out. All other days the male lion is out.
Collect these tickets at the entrance to visit the panda etc. Its free!
See panda and penguin closer. Come at 2pm it's feeding time for most of the animal.
I've been here twice. First time was shortly after the Chinese New Year and it was insanely packed. Avoid during holidays. Second time was a weekday morning and was much better experience.
Big place. Plenty of food for sale inside. But bring cash, because no cards are accepted. Even outside of the zoo .
VERY CHEAP !! :) NT60 for a very big zoo & close up to animal experience!
Weekdays are way better, no lineups at all. Got bitten by a lot of mosquitoes. Only the daddy panda was on display, lazily sleeping. I preferred the camels, koalas, and giraffes: lots of them close up
Can use easy card to pay!!!
By far, the cheapest zoo I've been, but some area are in the state of disrepair and poor maintenance.
Great zoo really worth a visit
Panda house mostly stop exhibit on first Monday every month! Weekdays doesn't need to line up to see them!
Great place to spend a full day with kids! Take shuttle bus to start your adventure from penguin .
Larger than I expected for the price of admission
They have pandas ! Huge zoo , but lots of great animals.
I feel lonely for the animals...
Go see the pandas in the afternoon.
Nacho won Panda !!!
Cheap ticket prices
Closes at 5pm
OMG! Daly Y., the mayor of Taipei Main Station, is here too! I can't believe!
This is Taiwan zoo 's bus
More cheap just 60 NT

Giant panda with baby
Great zoo. Clean, big, animals don't look depressed. NT$60 Entry for adults. Around US$2. - Gem U
Lovely park, combining green open space for dogs, a large pond / nature reserve for bird watching, & a great kids playground / sand pit. Busy @ weekends, it is really popular with absolutely all ages. - Matt Ta-Min
You can bike all the way from Xindian to Danshui here. Wide lanes for joggers, walkers and children. Also within the park there are tennis courts and baseball fields. Great spot for picnics! - Yone L
Go up and eat/drink at a high floor with a view. Try DTF's different types of XLB. Go to the Body Shop there and get their HEMP range of products! - Jzin T
