It is an annual tradition to have a delicious ham bap with all the extras from the spit roast hut directly in front of the Council House. It is also an annual tradition for them to increase the price.
One of the biggest in Europe! There is some stall repetition but the crafts/cheeses are amazing! Try the mulled cider from orchard pig and DO try a currywurst- it's the best!
Head straight past the British end of the market by the ICC on Broad street and head over to the traditional end around Victoria sq. Much more authentic and better choice!!
Excellent atmosphere, not really for children nothing much for them to do Food and drink excellent. Gift are expensive, but if looking for an usual present it is well worth the trip. I love it.
In 2015, watch out as the craft stalls, ferris wheel and ice rink aren't accessible through Paradise Forum. It's worth a visit though, especially for the warm flavoured cider!
Recommended: Browse more than 180 stalls full of authentic German gifts and handmade toys, or just indulge in the bratwurst, pretzels and Glühwein, whilst soaking up the fantastic festive atmosphere. Read more
Great place to meet up with family and friends and enjoy the live music programme on Victoria Square.
Saturday can get really busy but it's a very friendly atmosphere throughout.
Warm up with a festive Gluwein and pick up some hand crafted Xmas gifts or decorations.
There's a bar at the bottom of the steps in Victoria sq, usually a good spot with more room with tables.
Excellent atmosphere, but a tad over priced on drinks served in plastic glasses, top quality hot dogs but they should be for £4-50 each.
If you've got kids please leave the pushchairs at home! You carried them for nine months what difference is a few more hours! Your causing chaos!!!
Get a giant pretzel! They're totally delicious and the stall staff are so friendly, just like most of the people on the stalls in the market! So pretty at night!
On weekends, avoid the crowds by making it here before 5 PM. Once you've secured a good spot, go grab a beer and a sausage!
Loved the stake and sausage sandwitches, not to mention the pretzels!
Always pick the Red Sausage, but go to the stand at the top by the town hall as they do the BEST!
Every year the German Christmas Markets visits Birmingham and every year you are garanteed to enjoy yourself and feel that christmas joy =)
Try the 'buy 1, get 1 half price' offer at Kendal Creperie (by the Hall of Memory), quote 'paperless offer' - enjoy !
Get some mushrooms and potatoes with garlic sauce from the stall near the big bar with the mushroom on it
Forgot to add...try the chocolate covered marshmallows there are a few stalls around the market that do them.
it is amazing how the British People like the German Christmas Market. always nice to hear it! ;-)
Worth a visit for grow ups - but really not for kids. Not enough to do and way too busy!!
Many of the stalls had closed by 730pm - on a Friday night!
Same tat sold at excessive prices as last year, the year before that, the before that again, and again...
Try the crêpe with Kinderschokolade, it's one of the first stalls in New Street (3 pounds)
Very nice sausage and pretzel been there sat 8/12/12
0.5m long sausages are the way to go
the food is amazing and the hot chocolate is out of this world
You must buy a cheese sausage located at the sausage stand by the carousel!!! To die for! :D
Crazzy crowded.. but cant miss all the fun it has to offer
Come first thing in the morning to avoid getting caught in all the foot traffic! Also make sure to grab a glass of delicious German beer!

Garlic mushroom & Bratwurst accompanied by Hot Chocolate with Baileys is a perfect combination! :D
So many people and the same stalls repeated multiple times so although there seems to be a lot, its the same few over and over. Worth a visit but won't be back...
Walk around, look at cool stuff, drink a beer, have fun.
Amazing donuts and pretzels!!
The indian kebabs r amazing!
Feels like Germany here, just less cold :-)
Very nice sausage and pretzel for the money
Busiest after 5pm and during lunch. catch a post 9pm sausage or a mid-afternoon beer and pork bap though and you're laughing!
Loved the Xmas lights and themes
Walk through to near the new library and try Kendal Crepes
Buy some traditional ornaments for your Christmas tree. Oh! and don't forget to get some Lebkuchen.
The same 5 stalls repeated. Very busy and crowded, not much Christmas feeling about it.
get there early as its get very besy after 10am
Dress up warm; and buy loads of food!
Can't believe that the stalls were closed by 10pm!
Expensive but worth every penny!
If you don't have a bratwurst the trip was pointless.
