This is a Mountain Brook institution and a must for those stopping in Birmingham . It's simple pizza served in paper plates but the taste is world class . Decent selection of beers too.
The pizza is consistently amazing. My 3 year old grand daughter gives it two thumbs up.
Courageously simple and dangerously delicious. The salads are big and tasty. The pies are thin and crispy . Davenport's is what pizza is made of.

Because the pizzas here are cut into rectangular pieces - not pie-shaped wedges - a piece from the middle is very different from a piece with an edge of crust. You'll want a piece from the edge. Read more

Definitely worth the trip. Davenport's is what I would call a family dive. But they have wine and beer , which helps.
Great pizza . But beware of the pizza with a hole in it. It will extend your stay by at least an hour

Sat for 20 minutes after being seated and watched two tables get orders in. No waitstaff made contact.

Someone said the pizza was underrated. No, it's nasty. I got sick last time I ate here. Move over Davenports, there's better pizza in town now.
