The Mecca is much more than good food. The Mecca truly has its own personality and charm. Many establishments have come and gone, but the Mecca has managed to resist much change and that, in large part, is the beauty of the place.

I love Mecca! They have every kind of food for any type of person. I get the daily vegetable plate with the local vegetables and Mac n cheese ! It's delicious- trust me!
Mecca's doesn't offer gourmet dishes. People come here for comfortable atmosphere and simple, but delicious homemade food . Fried chicken is a common favorite. Read more
Literally like stepping back in time. And for me, it's pure comfort. Their fried chicken is so good it makes me want to slap my mama. Blackberry cobbler is mind blowing good. Love it!
The shrimp and grits is incredible. Bloody Mary is spicy and strong. Super cute place with very friendly people!
Everything here has an extra dash of TLC. The food, the staff and the lived-in feeling of this precious step back in time. You can tell it's been owned by generations that take pride in their work. ????
Breakfast is good! Scrambled eggs w/cheese and grits were great. Steak was ok, needed a tad more seasoning but cooked well . My first visit. Will definitely be back!
Older looking atmosphere....food was pretty good, portion size was really good. Didn't leave there overly stuffed after having a burger for lunch . Prices were good too!
One of the most underrated restaurants downtown. Great southern breakfast and plate lunches .
Fabulous biscuits and the most deliciously greasy sausage links . Love the atmosphere too!
The aesthetic of this place is perfect, and the food is great too!
Almost like a big city diner/dive spot. No GF options . Dinner companions all liked the food. Simple but good diner level food.
The fried chickens great it dies take 15mins bcz they drop it when you order it. Also very popular are the rinky dinks , yum! Ask the bartender about drink specials !!
Back for a second visit for breakfast . It was good and reasonably priced. Stonegeound grits to boot!
The charbroiled angus patty is awesome! Hold the roll and fries , and skip the salad dressing for a great paleo meal.
Established 1930 Old school joint with greasy breakfast ! You don't see too many places like this anymore.
Oldest bar in Raleigh. Head here before going to Neptunes. Great cheap beer and food.
Wonderful old school Raleigh location and excellent breakfast menu !
Not sure if they have vegetables , but both the grits and the biscuits are delicious
2nd time here...bbq is amazing, burgers are right on! Really fun atmosphere .
Had a great breakfast . Sausage , egg & cheese on homemade biscuit . Loved the genuine 1930's diner ambience.
They have a big salad that's delicious if you're being health conscious :)
The Pig in a Pup on the late night menu was delish! Just wish the late night menu started a little later than 9pm!
Pass on the Rinky Dinks and load up on the Pigs in a Pup. Yes these are real menu items.
I love the grilled cheese with tomato !!!
Good friendly environment with good food.
Sandwiches make for a good, quick lunch . Try the Double Decker.
Guys! Hush puppies WITH pulled pork inside. Nuff said.
Really cool place to hang out. Straight from the 1930s.
